It had all the things that people claim SC2 lacks, spread out battles all over the map, massive positional plays and excitement coming out its ass. My heart was pumping, my palms were sweating and I was jumping about in my seat, i haven't felt like that about sc2 in a long time. The elephants are here and they are helping push the game to new levels, their multi-tasking and mechanical skill is forcing the original sc2 players to push their boundaries. This season has seen some amazing changes in how the game is played, I can't wait to see more and more of this.
Thank god they finally switched. They might not be dominating, they may never dominate, but their mere presence is taking the game to new heights. If you watch only one game from the up and downs, watch Flash vs Ryung.... it was simply astounding. it was one game. and TvT is fine. the other match-ups are fucking boring.

^ Yea exactly, TvT has always been epic. As much as people complained about gomTvT it showed some of the most amazing games of all time.
If Blizzard would somehow capture the magic of TvT in other two MU's it would be so much more fun to play/watch SC2.

Omg can you imagine if Sirius had beat Seed, 5 way 2-2's? would they have to do the entire group again?

You know why TvT is a better matchup to watch? One main reason is that the defenders advantage is much more pronounce. First, you have tanks in defensive positions behind much more effective. Then you have armies that need to cross the map.
The Flash Ryung games were a perfect example of this. They both won fights on their own side of the map which made them have a 20 supply leads. But by the time they got over to pressure their opponents base, the armies at the point of engage were actually very similar due to reinforcement distance. This plus the siege up tanks meant that the player with the supply lead couldn't really just charge in.
This doesn't really happen in PvP because if one of the P is up 20 supply, they just move across the map, make pylon and reinforce. Since their army is 20 supply up, it is almost impossible to lose unless they really mess up their micro. ZvZ is slightly better in that they also have to run across the map. But the winning side usually keeps their infestors and by the time they get across, they have a might better infestor count and that usually determines the game (the Roro DRG showed this is not necessary the case but that is a rare occurrence.

Yes, that was why most people were hoping for a Sirius win.

Sick TvT between flash and ryung. That 360 flank was just beautiful to watch. To the idiots complaining about Flash's lack of planetaries: he was behind on workers and barely holding his own in army. He needed the mules or he'd have died a lot earlier. Good luck to Flash denying Ryung's future expos and taking more of his own off a planetary fortress economy.

Yes defender's advantage is a part of it but not the only one. The interaction between marine/tank is probably the main factor. As establishing tank lines provides benefits, you can't simply a-move. Flash used insane flanks to beat Ryung, that was truly amazing.
But yeah, Whirwlind being a huge map it took so much time to cross it that reinforcing was much much harder.

I enjoy more than one matchup but you can be negative as heck if you want.
On a side note I feel bad that Supernova wasnt able to get the Nestea award :/

It's nice to see at least 1 slayers player make it back to code s before the team is officially done. Idk if i could have handled LRing 10 more games lol

At least we now know for sure what the best mu is. Too bad that took Flash's sacrifice T_T But really, he could have won had he built a couple of pf's instead of orbitals

Factual correction. No player has fallen out of GSL in the time they have been with Axiom, Mr Romney.
