Standard LR rules apply: No balance whining, no KeSPA vs. GomTV inciting, no excessive derailing ESPECIALLY when games are on. This is not a thread for you to argue with other people. |

To Rain's other credit is that he is the cleanest player in the business. There are no unforced errors in his gameplay, and I guess I can attribute this straight away to the rigorous training regimens of the KESPA teams... and we thought we knew what korean training meant.
The big hurdle with the coming of KESPA to SC2 has been the (somewhat expected) revelation, that noone in the ESF establishment has a brain. MVP is actually the only plausible exception to that, but he isn't a convincing exception by comparison, nowhere near ingenious enough.
In closing, I conclude that the entire non-kespa starcraft establishment are slackers, no-brainers and inexperienced in their approach to RTS gaming. Rain 3-0. He is coming in with training and preparation on a whole another level than what the established SC2 scene is yet even able to comprehend.

IM - the greatest ever? Yankees of SC2? Maybe in terms of Championships. However, we all know who the real Yankee is in SC2, the one that buys all "best" players. Funny thing is, all of IM's players are 'home-grown'. Even players like First 'transferred' over after retiring from BW. I know IM's coach gets a lot of flack in team leagues but that dude knows what he is doing. IM is more like the current Barcalona team where they just have an embarrassment of riches. And that their '2nd tier' players would be stars on almost any other team. It's also pretty insane how much player retention IM have, they've had the same roster without losing any players for such a long time. I'm not sure if they're well paid or just really loyal/family-like - probably a bit of a combination of the both I guess. from IM coach after LG sponsorship. What are the benefits to the players? * First of all, we will now pay players every year. This is a little "gift" to all the players who stayed and played with IM. Especially, NesTea and MVP will receive top-tier salary. In addition to this, all traveling fees as well as basic fundamental fees will be covered. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=332384and i think he's great coach, IM player always mention him in their interview
Yeah, I remembered reading this, still noone really knows how much they get I guess. Although, from what I've seen, it seems like MVP and Nestea are pretty loyal and really good friends with the coach too - they're also "founding" members too!

Definitely both, the LG sponsorship probably really help in the financial stability department but IM was already really stable before that. And the coach (and more importantly, his wife) just mentioned in almost every IM players' interviews so they are very close (like a lot of other SC2 teams).
That is why I loved the weekly IM streams when they had it last year. It wasn't just showing player grinding games on ladder. The coach was beside the player answering questions via translater and also giving us a glimpse of their thought process during matches. Of course, you get 'fun' games where the coaches starts playing and when he is losing, he just swaps in Mvp Fun times.

Well, he's banned. Probably feeling really stupid right now too. It's even funnier because Mvp trained with Woongjin Stars for years before Starcraft 2, maybe that's why he's the best. He must have picked up on the ability to not be a slacker/no brainer/inexperienced in his approach to RTS gaming.

Wow, IMMVP you are so damn good.
Many other Terrans have come and tried to take your position as #1 Terran over the years. MKP met you in the finals twice, but you beat them. Polt, Bomber, MMA, and Taeja. All tried to take the #1 Terran title from you, but you have outlasted them all. 6 GSL finals appearances, twice as many as the next highest, and twice as many titles as the next highest.

Yeah I am sure he is more disciplined than the other SC2 pros. He was even on the rise in BW when he changed to SC2 so his dominance isnt that surprising.

The Greatest
MVP has 4 GSL titles and a plethora of other titles under his belt(WCG,IEM,MLG,etc).
Until they(Polt,Bomber,MMA,Taeja) start to win those number of titles, then we can start talking.
I never liked how TL hyped up Taeja as the current " best Terran player in the world " when he hasn't win a GSL title yet.
Now the hype train for Taeja will now be slowed down.

just watched the vods... literally punched the wall after seeing the conclusion to Mvp vs Rain -.-
well at least Life made it with flying colours, should be a sick finals, but I have a feeling Mvp will win as usual as I have yet to see a GSL Finals ending with the person I cheer for winning (Only exceptions being MC's and MMA's championships)

I believe Leenock was favored 92% or 96% to win on Liquibet or something ridiculous. True. I guess he's kind of like jjakji though because jjakji was picked last that season and people were like wat who is this guy and why is everyone scared of him? a lot of people in the group selection thread were saying that they thought Life was one of the weakest players in the ro16 not too far behind Heart lol No one was saying Life was one of the weakest players in Ro16 during group selection. This guy is TSL4 2nd place and a monster in Korean weeklies. This guy isn't even playing this game full time and he is consistently 1#GM in Korean Server along with Creator. he's fulltime now, but going back to school soon i think? I don't think he is fulltime. He mentioned in an interview he ask permission from his teacher to take a day off just to play at the GSL. He mentioned in his interview after beating MKP that he was in the process of transferring school and that's why he had a lot of time to practice. i think that was during code a last season, which is actually quite a long time ago now haha.
Actually no.Life isn't 100% fulltime pro-gamer. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=374565
Life still goes to school and took the day off school to play in today Bo5 against Taeja.
