Standard LR rules apply: No balance whining, no KeSPA vs. GomTV inciting, no excessive derailing ESPECIALLY when games are on. This is not a thread for you to argue with other people.

Rather he leave the game on top on his own terms than to fall to new blood or the transitioned kespa pros. Same. I hope after the end of this season (and hopefully his 5th GSL championship), he temporarily retires and gets the care he needs.

Wished for a TvT finals really, would have been alot of fun especially with those two Terrans. Life should be no problem for Mvp though ... but more then Taeja.

Though that sounds wise and perhaps the right thing, for him this is a sign he's still good enough to keep playing even with a injury and pain. For 50k people are willing to endure alot of pain. Currently is the best time for him to earn alot of money, there is no guarantee he will be able to do the same after the surgery.

With luck, maybe he can even recover in time for HotS.

Is there some more information what is actually wrong with his neck/wrists? I always wonder how he would play while being perfectly healthy.....

Is 50k worth the possibility of being crippled or in chronic pain the rest of your life? He's already cemented himself as the first sc2 great (yea i don't like the word bonjwa) like boxer was in sc1.

Regardless of what you think of the actual games: - Last season GSL was the first Protoss win in well over a year (something like 15 months) and the first PvP finals. - Last season GSTL was the first all-kill GSTL finals. - This season GSL is either the first royal roader or MVP notching up an almost unbeatable record of 5 GSL wins.

The biggest reason I think he's so reluctant to leave the game temporarily is because he is aware of how much it will impact his play. His recovery time could take months if not a year before he's back to regular form. In that time, with the influx of kespa talent, he would certainly fall behind if not in the metagame, than in his mechanics at least. You gotta remember these guys caught up in only 5ish months? Mvp's recovery would certainly take that long at least I think, and who knows how monsterous those guys will be in another 5 months time.

Just amazing. DRG won the first, where is he now? Seed got knocked early in this one, Mvp steps up again.

I can not answer that question, also we don't know if he will be crippled or in chronic pain for the rest of his life. But yes 50k is enough money to stay in pain for. It's also a asian family thing, they earn money for the family, something like that could play a rol to.

He probably doesn't care about legacy as much about money. The life of a progamer is short, so he should cash in on it while he can.
