Haha, silly mothership core. Rush it to do great harass and re-call for instant defense. I saw one that got 18 kills against Kas who tried to defend his mineral line with a turret but msc outranged it. Not a bad unit for 50m50g, I must say.

Watching Babyknight vs Dimaga with lots of Swarm Hosts and Broodlords and Spines made it look like it takes zero skill and just a lot of turtling behind that wall. At least the usual Protoss deathball strategy didnt work ....

Of course it's lonely, I have TaKe's stream on in a different tab and do something else in the meantime, but every time I tab over to see if there are some games on, all I ever catch is TaKe and the little guy on the couch. I'm not chasing the games, but it seems like there's a lot of downtime.

Yes it seems to take some time to get the games rolling. I was watching both hots tournaments earlier when the other one was on so that wasn't an issue then. But that thread was also dead so I don't know if it's just a slow day or if it's just not that interesting for the TL'ers. The viewer number looks good.

Maybe it has to do with how boring it looks. That Babyknight vs Dimaga game had zero excitement and it was due to the unit composition with its ton of free units (and Fungal Growth) being unbeatable by the standard Protoss army. Swarm Host (and Broodlord) = zero micro = zero excitement. At least in WoL you had to use your Zergling / Roach support units in the correct way and micro a bit back and forth, but Swarm Host just produces free units you can lose without that being a problem. Terribly boring unit.

I haven't seen many swarm host games but the ones I've seen have been slow and boring, yes. Funny though that it has always been Dimaga on the Z side. He sitts behind them and just wear P down until he has got to tap out. I'm not feeling it. :/

I agree with the sentiment of Swarm Hosts being boring. I've yet to see an actually exciting game when a bunch of those were in play.

Well, nowadays we are spoiled by incredible high level WoL games, so seeing players figuring out the game but still wanting to win can be a bit boring. Especially because they most likely will not take huge risks with new units when there is money on the line.

But they can't do anything with their 5 vs 10 range if the msc is placed right, and the same goes for turrets.
