I get so upset when Terran players neglect upgrades. 3/3 toss against 2/2 terran is ridiculously one sided in toss' favor.

He couldn't transition into broodlords because he didn't have the time, the upgrades, or the money. BL/infestor/corruptor only starts being really effective against stalker/colossus when they hit a critical mass - in low unit counts, the stalker/colossus player is better off every time. That's the point of spine crawler walls - buying time - but Byul didn't have nearly enough spines/time.

The margin for error seems to be much smaller for Zerg in this matchup. Although Byul made mistakes this game Yonghwa did too and I think Yonghwa's mistakes were much worse but mattered less because of the strength of Stalker, Sentry, Colosus before Hive.

It isn't just this game either. WCS was full of games like this and Protoss just kept winning

Byul started off significantly behind because he lost his third and the drones at it.

He then invested all his gas on a tech switch which failed to do anything until after Yonghwa had pretty much finished all his tech, army, and upgrades.

Things didn't go as well for Byul as you think.

Sending a second player from the same race is understandable - he might be better than the first one. Sending a third player of the same race after the first two get destroyed, that's questionable to say the least. Such illogical decisions by the coaches ruin GSTL for me.

Basically Byul burned about 1200 gas on 2 spires, greater spire, and a +2 attack up. Should of spent it all on melee 3/3 adrenal and ultra armor if he was going ultras. He was too indecisive with his gas.

Why's that? Are you assuming that because a player beats a Zerg, Zergs cannot beat him? The game is more complex than race vs race.

If anything, letting Zergs on your team study the opponent's play repeatedly gives the repeats an advantage.

Yeah, so true. What does he want to do here? Almost seems like he's feeling extremely pressured, and it's no wonder, YongHwa is tearing his team up, and he has to beat him to bring FnaticRC back into the match.

i think he was referring to the fact that they got destroyed. if they did decently but lost by a reasonable margin your argument would work.
