Remember when every zerg used to call infestors terrible as they always clumped them up and getting them EMP'd or never saving them after battles? Yeah well, look at infestors now. They've not really had any buffs per such but people are regarding them as one of the most powerful units in the game.
People just need to experiment with ravens more and I'm sure they'll get more use. Infestors got buffed AND ghosts EMP got nerved. Just saying... Zerg are the race that ran headlong into Collosus balls with roach/hydra/corruptor for months, and whined incessantly. Most of their playstyle shifts are the direct result of buffs that the race received, or nerfs to other races. /rant
I still think to this day that the Ghost nerf was premature. However, snipe is supposedly better against Infestors due to the bonus damage to psionic units, so maybe that's an avenue worth checking out.

again, he was lagging. there was latency between the server that major was playing on and hyun's server. he couldn't make the spines in time because he was lagging when macroing. by the time he got done doing his laggy macro, he was probably going to make spines but it was too late, the hellions already came in.

infestors were made slower because they got too far ahead of the army and died. idra said so on a sotg

Buffed fungal growth did 36 (48 vs armoured). And you forgot that FG got nerfed too, down to 30 (40 vs armoured).
Yes, they did get buffed hugely. They went from being only useful for delaying/rooting your opponent down for a while to a big DPS output and overall good unit.

Hyun did not lose to major due cross server lag. He lost, because he did not build spines against helions three times in a row. Lag has no influence in the decision to not build spines.
Edit: @ your next post: Lag is about two seconds on really bad days. A spine crawler build 50 seconds. That is obviously not the explanation.

also the stun duration being lowered means the damage is dealt much faster. having the units stunned for longer really isn't that important when medivacs out heal the damage dealt easily. an 8 second stun time was actually worse than the 4 second stun time.
infestors definitely got buffed. the only actual nerf was the nerual parasite range which was just ridiculous before the nerf.

It was not effective to use it against tanks when you can drop a fungal on the rines or something instead, a tank is not a big beefy 4-6 supply unit that's worth rendering your infestor temporarily useless. Range 9 is already terrible against tanks also, and a 2.25 move speed actually makes army control easier.
