Just build drop defense, and win against major. It's not hard. ~_~

Sadly if you look at qualifications and stuff (I don't follow football) but there's very few good Scottish football players.

Too bad. I don't understand this mentality. I don't understand how it's difficult to understand. Not to be a prick and I do like to pop into LRs once in a blue moon to comment, but there is basically no story, no underdogs, no climactic anything. Hack and almost all these koreans do not have a ton of personality (regardless of anyone's justifications to subjectivity), they are all Code B to low Code S players that are almost all recyclable. Granted, most of the foreigners in TSL are of the same quality in the EU scene, at the very least we could have rooted for an underdog. Now at best we'll have JR (who I wouldn't mind to be honest) or Major (aka always one train wreck away from something). I haven't watched any of the TSL matches because I didn't find anything here for me, but I just wanted to address the terrible point people make of 1. Not wanting to watch because of no foreigners OR 2) Not understanding why. It's not always about saying, 'ok, based on our system, we have the highest pool of talent', it's also about making it entertaining and by human nature, rarely is something worth watching unless there is also a back story. It should be noted that TSL doesn't have the "best" talent anyway as the majority of Code S players did not even bother to make more than a couple or any qualifying attempts, which is why placing a few invites (for the draw) ALONG with qualifiers (for the skill and newcomers) is what made TSL3 so great. Nice way to despise people simply because they're Korean. Yeah. So What ? We don't have the same access to their culture that we have to others. How could we know them as much as foreigners ? Are you going to blame us because we don't cheer for people we don't know against people we know and like ?
How about trying to get to know them. I've followed figure skating for years, I know very little about european culture and yet because I admire the skills of many eu skaters I did my best to learn about them. I don't always get their humour in intervews and sometimes I do wish Canada produced better skaters on a consistent basis but I don't stop watching whenever the last canadian is out of winning contention and all that's left is some russians, a guy from france and maybe an american.
Did you see the GSTL Hype threads, there's info out there about a lot of korean players by this point, they have interviews, videos on those wierd shows gsl does from time to time and many of them have been to foreign tournaments and fans have interacted with them just fine. These players are often only faceless if you refuse to put in the effort to get to know them.

Are you going to blame us because we don't cheer for people we don't know against people we know and like ? Calling people of a culture you do not follow 'recyclable' might garner you a little bit of criticism. Telling others who know these players, have followed them and like them that '[they] do not have a ton of personality' might also. Or just be factually incorrect. Saying that we cannot know them as much as foreigners when at least a few of TL posters see them more regularly in tournaments, read more interviews with them and generally can follow them more closely because they are involved with more than strictly online tournaments on an ongoing basis might also be completely wrong. And I do not think anyone really blames you for feeling the way you do. Some might say you are wrong. Certainly some of the facts you try to bring are wrong. Most would just say that whining in live report threads, be it about balance or nationality, is tiresome and it should have no place here. For the most part of what you're talking about : i didn't say that. We are far from koreans players, so it's not as easy to follow them. It would ask me to make efforts that i don't want to make, because i just want to watch games. I just said that i was done with TSL, not that this was a bad tournament and that you should feel bad watching it. I, ME, MY, PERSONNALLY, just think that all the fun i could have is over. I won't watch korean players fight in an online tournament when i can see them in the GSL, or in the WCS (they care more about it that about TSL).
What do you mean you did not say that? I quoted you. oO

I have nothing against koreans, but there are no interesting koreans (MC, MVP, Taeja, Squirtle, MKP, Losira, Nestea, Parting, DRG) left or they didn't even compete in tsl4 in the first place. Now I have no-one to root for in the top 8. I guess I'll just go for whoever foreigner is left just because of the upset factor ^^
Koreans can't get to BE interesting if they don't get exposure, i.e in tournaments like this. Plus the qualification was meritocratic, with a few invites to former champions. I mean how many people were fans of Seed before his recent upsurge in form? You are right. I guess it is hard for me, and apparently for many others to find something.. likeable from many koreans. For example look at Alive. He won the freaking IPL4 and still has way less fans than the average EU/NA player. I can't say why this is though, and quite frankly I am puzzled by it. I guess koreans are generally more stoic than foreigners and their playstyle is more defined, creating less variance (and thus creating less things that stand out). I think there needs to be more Bitbybits in the scene :> Actually Creator is in the bracket still so I am definitely rooting for him. He has a cool, crisp playstyle. He's almost too turtly for my liking, prefer the likes of Hero. However I do steal all his builds, guy's damn good I get why the likes of Grubby, with informative commentary and entertaining feats of micro are more popular than the likes of Alive, but no idea why people who don't commentate, and show play about 75% as good get many times the viewers. Actually was watching Alive's stream, my dormant desire to play Terran is back :p
Still, if any foreigner regardless of playstyle won IPL4, he would easily get at least 5x the fans than Alive. My post was actually concerning of the whole issue, not just Alive ^^
