I wait for the day he drops off. So we can't have emotions, ok Personally I find the caster bias ridiculous, annoying, and game-ruining. Fanboys are extremely annoying too and they tend to wreck LR threads, which is why I always root for whoever plays vs Stephano. Emotions are fine I go crazy myself when MC wins, but this whole "Stephano moves a ling -> best player in the world" "Stephano would rip off DRG's limbs in a single move" and stuff is just overboard and annoying. Can't do anything about it though, too bad Thank you. I wish more people understood this. Pretty much sums up how I feel as well. Stephano is of course a good player, but the insane amount of hype and bias around him drives me fucking insane. and much like the guy you quoted I can't help but root against him just because the fanboys and bias are more annoying to me than balance whine and trolls. I have been a fan of professional SC since the early broodwar days. To me, extreme bias by casters etc is not only annoying, it is extremely disrespectful to the other player. Competition is fine. Fans are fine. Even a few jabs here and there are fine. But this overly exaggerated worship of Stephano simply because hes a non-korean who plays well is really embarrassing to me. Maybe people need someone like themselves (non-korean) to cheer for, and thats fine. But its getting really old by now. Well, that's what happens when one foreigner stands out above all the rest. People need someone to cheer for, and massive amounts of bias and fanboyism is annoying, but sadly inevitable. If we lived in some alternate universe in which the things Stephano has done was instead performed by some random Code B Korean who hasn't been in the GSL yet, it would be interesting to see if people would still try to call him the best/one of the best players in the world. They wouldn't. First has been crushing his way through this MLG so far and so has Taeja. Don't see anyone salivating over their every move.
This is the exact reason I went from being a Stephano fan to wanting him to be blessed with losses (in addition to using, in my opinion, boring play). The fans, casters and etc. just ignore the opponent and spew all the love to him. In addition to the mistakes people miraculously (maybe due to his reputation) that are overlooked.

Can the QQ about Stephano end please? Thanks...

Personally I think what was more embarrassing is the people who write off people at Starcraft just because they're not Korean. Yeah it's funny because Koreans like Polt, Jaedong, and Bisu among others have been doing their part to hype up Stephano, it's not just foreigners hyping him because he's a foreigner, people recognize legitimate skill. Not to be a hater, but it is common practice among popular individuals to appease communities by praising something that represents them. SC2's community is a fairly hysterical one, which means that a few kind words of appreciation are often annoyingly overhyped.
This exactly.
"Oh my God, Jaedong is a huge fan of Stephano!" "Jaedong's favorite SC2 Zerg player is Stephano!"
Uhhh, not really?

Can't do anything about it though, too bad Yes, yes, when you do it, it's great, when other people do it, it's the worst. Maybe just get over yourself. I agree. I can't understand these people who complain about "bias". I imagine that every time Stephano does something well, they cringe or something like that. It's a game and a cast, just take it for what it is. No I don't. Stephano's moves are sometimes amazing, I'm able to distinguish that, like I said, he's a really good player. I dislike caster bias because casters aren't supposed to be THAT biased, they ruin the watching experience unless you're a fanboy. While overboard fanboys ruin LRs because of this kind of discussion Yeah that's how I feel. Nothing against Stephano, but it's annoying listening to the casters act like every move he does is the greatest, most genius thing ever when a lot of the time it's actually pretty basic, and they brush over a lot of his mistakes. Sometimes it's like the opponents don't get any credit, it's just the Stephano show. Though admittedly they've not been -that- bad here. Really it's just an outgrowth of Stephano being the only foreigner who can consistently beat Koreans, and a lot of the fanbase simply aren't interested in Koreans, but will cheer anyone who isn't Korean. well stephano is ridiculously good and wins from situations that no one else does, and him being the only foreigner to be able to consistently defeat koreans obviously warrants praise The problem isn't with him having fans, that's fine The problem lies with: Stephano burrows an ultra "OH MY GOD STEPHANO.. BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD!!".. Stephano lands a fungal "Jesus christ this is so good, DRG is a scrub compared to this" and all such ridiculous things, it's annoying. But noone actually adds the 'DRG is a scrub'. Isn't that just insecurity speaking?
Haters just have to make up false justification for their complaints.

Seems like Taeja likes getting early gasses right? He also likes killing creep tumors right? Well instead of using a ton a scans to clear them, use mules to get more minerals and use your gas to get a raven! Not like he doesn't have starport with tech lab. He even made banshees early on. Just get a raven, and then you can get a second raven, and a third. And since they take so long, they won't really eat into any of your resources, except your huge gas bank. That's how you do it early enough are you serious? You know that upgrades/tanks/medivacs require gas and that you only have 6 gas as T in mid game. And you know what happen to a T who pushes on creep? btw Taeja did so well on that side that he didn't even scan. I hop, sincerely hope it's a troll... Well I don't know what you consider a troll. I am theory crafting, but that's just because I can't pull something like that off myself. You did see that Taeja had 4000 gas at the end of the game right? And even from midgame on he had at least 500 at all times

TaeJa didn't have the techlab starport, nor the air upgrades.. It take forever to make this transition sadly. Game was close tho, TaeJa could have won by playing a bit better. This is simply not true. Taeja did have techlab starport, he was making banshees early game! Somebody doesn't play Terran. It takes freakin forever to build ravens, even more time for HSM. How would you like to have 20 supply tied up in units that require so much freaking time to become effective for ONE shot.
Plus HMS is a terrible spell it's been discussed that the reason to get raven would be PDD for BC support.

People didnt think foreigners couldnt compete because they were non-korean descent. They thought that because they simply lost horribly against them 95 percent of the time. Their results made their reputation, not personal bias. Very very few foreigners could compete against even the lowest level professional players. Their reputation came from their results. Not bias.

He surly switched that. But yeah, he could have switched back. Yet I don't know why he would do that. Ravens in the situation he was in, are not really good. Watch MVP vs Golden to see how you transition into that army. You have to start way earlier and play more of a turtlestyle (and the map has to be OK for that). Or you have to play it like Ryung against DRG on such an open map. But TaeJa did neither. He kept on trying to do killing blows, so he had not time for a transition.
