There is quite alot of skill involved , because you are travelling so fast its hard to aim. Also, your travel speed affects your projectile speed so landing an airshot is close to impossible

i dont doubt the game is hard, qwop is very hard. its just not very good to watch a bunch of little names zoom around, while an announcer talks about what they are doing is so hard.
FPS Esports was at its best with cs 1.6 imo 5v5 teams all about making effective 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 trades and then rotating as a team to find what holes you have created in the D

TF2 had a similar problem and there just wasn't a way to make it work well. There would be unpredictable bursts of action that were incredibly tough to catch, and yet TF2 was based on control points which creates a battle line and forces people to group up. These sections of action were over so quickly that there was no build up of excitement, or suspense, or anything.

yep it's not a pay to win game by any stretch of the imagination. just need to grind a bit (which you need to do to get your skills up anyway) to unlock all the classes etc

Are people serously having problems watching this? This is my first time watching tribes and by no means do I think I know everything there is to know, but casters are explaining how the teams work pretty effectively. You can easily understand the role of each of the players. Also, considering how fast players move, those flag passings by the blue team were amazing! A pathfinder was always running right for the spot the flag was intended to land, very nice!

The camera doesn't really capture the high pace of the game or make me feel any affinity for someone, like, KiLLAxTHRiLLA is so awesome with x gun he's so fun to watch. I don't play but I've seen some streams and it does look pretty cool, but the spectator camera view might as well make it halo

Relative to other "free to play" crap fests Tribes is great.
This isn't like some Facebook game where you literally run out of 'energy' and can't keep playing unless you put in money or wait 24 hours.
It is too bad about Unreal not having a great spectator mode though.

Yeah, because having to wake up at like 5 in the morning to watch euro tournaments appeals to americans. It works both ways.

so the disadvantage is you just need to grind. it's a highly polished f2p with everything available after grinding. if you don't want to pay anything, you get to grind. seems fair to me.
