I admit I havent been following the sc2 metagame and balancing the past few months because of schools but how the hell does mvp lose to monchi? how were the games

You can't say there's no consistency, I mean DRG for example has been in the finals of the past 4 MLG's he has attended, so he's obviously doing something better than everyone else.

Inferior is a strong word and not one that I would use for someone who just beat MVP. I would say that Monchi knew he was not going to be able to match MVPs end game macro, since he is the Game Genie Terran. You can't fault people who do not have access to the Korean ladder for taking risks. I think the whole situation of MVP being able to be beaten by these guys is just very sad for the game and when he streams and loses to jackthejasonbowler high master NA it doesn't help my mood either. To all those STILL whining about it; imagine a tournament with no upsets. MVP would win everything he entered and it'd be kind of cool for a while but then it'd get reeeeeal dull. Personally I'd be quite happy if MVP was playing good. Nothing annoys me more than when the worse player(of the current game) wins, especially when it's just a split second miscontrol that is insurmountable(such as FG).

I don't think people should be getting so mad at SC2 for that MVP series he lost. He should of scouted that hidden third, you would never see a repeating OSL/MSL BW pro not scout that against some barely known BW player.

No, because there would be other players who are actually good who could take games off of him. For every flash, there is a fantasy/jangbi/etc. There doesn't have to be 1 dominant player who wins everything, but a group of elite players that everyone tries to reach and eventually surpass. That is much more interesting than a handful of guys at the top that usually win stuff but randomly drop series to people that have never accomplished anything and disappear after their 5 minutes of fame.

But exceptional players are standing out. That's indicted by the giant shit fit on this LR thread after Mvp lost. Everyone was really surprised he lost because we know Mvp usually wins because he's an exceptionally good player. All of this complaining proves there are exceptional players. If there weren't any then we'd never be surprised when a monchi beat an mvp.
