After the initial confusion, group selection went as follows:

The top 4 players by wins and mapscore of the first group stage were put in groups A through D in alphabetical order:

A: IdrA
B: SaSe
C: Sleep
D: YongHwa

Next the other four top 1 finishers of the first group stage randomly drew their groups:

A: IdrA / Happy
B: SaSe / Nerchio
C: Sleep / MC
D: YongHwa / Mvp

Next all of the second place finishers of the first group stage randomly drew their groups, drawing again whenever they drew a group with a player they had played before in the first group stage:

A: IdrA / Happy / Golden / HasuObs
B: SaSe / Nerchio / BlinG / Snute
C: Sleep / MC / DIMAGA / sLivko
D: YongHwa / Mvp / Ret / Naama

Finally, as a special perk, the top 4 players by wins and mapscore of the first group stage got to switch themselves with someone from another group or stay in their group. The order was decided randomly, which came out to be YongHwa first, then SaSe, then Sleep, and finally IdrA.
