Frankly, the "design" of the Void Ray is a goddamned joke. It's supposed to be good against massive units with lots of HP, but loses to BCs because of Yamato, and can't touch Broodlords because of Fungal. You don't really see ultras or thors vP, and even if you did, Immortals handle them better. Against Colossi in PvP, it's also 100% useless.
Frankly, I'm surprised they're not removing it in HotS.

There is a reason queens move like a snail... it would make protoss lose every zerg all in without forcefields
them slugs are already too strong
once you decide to call them fat they might just flip and break your force fields.
