Okay, I get that when Zergs don't punish it and let the Terran max and push with mech it seems strong, but believe me if every Zerg reacts to Mech like Violet did there you would never win a single game with it.
It's actually depressing how horribly you die against a roach max with drops trying to go mech.

awww poor mvp, but grats to violet. But lol split sieging against roach drop, unsieged and with a few worker on autorepair and kiting away from the overlords, while a few vikings forcing the drop. And the hellions being in the middle doing splash everywhere. Even having the siege tanks clumped would have been better, the way mvp had split the tanks the first roaches that got dropped splashed around 3 tanks.
Really bad engagement from mvp, but he was clearly expecting the drop in the main not on his army.

It's not about not liking the better players or cheering for the favorite, I was fine with Symbol going through because he looked really good, very, very unlike Violet compared to MVP.

Poor MVP ;__; it's mostly to prevent ridiculous derailment from the actual tournament and games theorycrafting about the developement in the current games the LR is focused on and what could have been done different is for me one of the main reasons to even be in this thread. Or is it purely for people that doesnt actually watch the games so they can follow what is happening?
It's not like LR threads have 100% set in stone rules, but they're definitely not a free-chat thread where over 50% of the posts can be about something entirely different from what's going on in a game/stream

That was the only counter Violet could have really gone for, and MVP was completely unprepared for it. The only way to prepare without spending thousands of minerals on Turrets is to not go Mech in the first place. There's ways to drastically mitigate the damage that can do. Thats why Violet drops his roaches slowly, only a couple of ovies dropping at a time. Only unloading everything once the tanks are down.

You haven't been watching enough games, that's what happened in the recent god-knows-how-many mech TvZ games that got scouted within reasonable time by the zerg, which is the vast majority of time.
Mech used to win games by delaying a third with hellions, then hitting a pre-hive timing. The only mech build I've seen working recently was Puma's build at MLG with hellion into 4 cloak banshee.

Don't think MVP thinks of this as an "upset". If you go into a match with a 30% winrate in practice you're not gonna really be disappointed when the outcome is what you expected. He didn't really try anything new that hasn't been seen for the past year so I doubt his mindset/practice changed since the last time.
