The matchup has become much less fun to watch. It used to play out on a razor's edge from start to finish.

I don't get all the comments stating MMA is slumping. His TvZ has definitely taken a hit, which is disheartening because it was his defining MU. But if you've watched some of his recent play you'd find that his TvP has become quite exceptional and that his TvT, while not as strong, is still enough to take out MKP in a Bo5.

against DRG? That's what pisses me off. Around Christmas DRG MMA matches where something i looked forward to. Now? I predicted exactly this result as soon as i knew they would be playing. I even bet my brother how the games would go. First game I said he would try to eco as hard as he could and die to roach/bane (roach/ling is close enough imho), second game he would try some kind of harass build and fail miserably and fall behind.
Even with that ridiculous ledge for the Terran his harass build failed miserably because queens can pretty much solo anything Terran can build with a few lings produced.
Don't get me wrong, DRG is a great player and made no mistakes in those games. He scouted MMA perfectly in game 1 and went for the throat just as he should have, but the state of this matchup is a disgrace, esp. considering the fact that there was no problem prepatch...

6 month ago TvZ had nukes and a ton of back and forth and a ton of drops and multitasking.
It was the most entertaining match up to watch.
Now it's just not fun to watch >_>

Queen range was to make holding off early aggression easier, which it succeeded in hilariously well

Putting the patch aside, I feel MMA's build on Antiga was pretty bad regardless.

I think a lot of it is the crazy creep spread... MMA can't get many successful drops if the spread is that good..

Yes but it also assists creep. So its still a scouting buff aswell as a combat buff.

TvZ was the most balanced matchup (winrate wise) and funnest to watch (opinion obv) before the patch, and now it's just gone to hell. I agree the Zerg needed at least the overlord buff, because it was so easy to deny the overlord and all-in. Now you can't surprise a Zerg at all so the only choice is to outgreed them and with the larva/inject mechanic it's hard to pull that off too.

No, i mean TvP. At least it lends some leeway to some midgame play by the terran, which is the most exciting aspect of terran play. not turtle to 15-20 minutes to encounter and infester broodlord deathball.

Those were pretty minor changes compared to the queen buff. There's no point praying for a patch revert. Better just to wait for HotS :D

Ryung vs DRG was only good in game 1, the other games were just...bad. Taeja vs Violet was alright. And as well as Monster has been doing recently, we are talking about a GSL champion in Jjakji. It's not as exciting as it use to be from a spectator point of view.
