Now in korea there is a 200/200 roach timing with overlord drop(not even need speed now) that is almost impossible to hold, as you have to defend 3 different places while the ffs are almost useless

IMO this literally is a HUGE problem right now once zergs start learning this

you dont even need roachspeed OR lingspeed, just spend 300/300 on drops and protoss has to defend 3 locations at once while you drop 200food of roach/ling into the toss main at TWELVE MINUTES LITERALLY

honestly lingspeed/roachspeed loses its value after mass forcefields at in play. imo might be better to skip lingspeed and just get droptech for a 200max drop at 12 minutes

this new 200food max + drops strategy thats been going around the korean ladder is KILLER. i agree once stephano starts doing that its gonna be WTFHAX

Yes I saw that and I was wondering why stephano didnt use drop on Antiga when he was super ahead.

However, I saw no way Stephano could get BLords in time, and so he would have to mega turtle to not die. But against someone like MC, that wouldn't put you in an advantageous position at all and his 4th would have surely gone down.

Any Zerg players want to chip in?

The match up swings wildly over the course of a game and you're essentially picking up on it with what you said.

If the Zerg survives to get out the roach pressure it's usually their chance to get ahead. It used to be their chance to outright win the game, but Protoss players have adapted sufficiently to rarely die from that push these days.

If that pressure fails, there's a huge window where Protoss can build up an unkillable army and walk over the Zerg with very little the Zerg can do about it unless they can somehow snipe the third. You may be able to rush to Broodlord tech fast enough, but you certainly wont get enough BL's and Infestors out to stop a mass blink stalker army and that's where many Zergs end up dying.

Surviving this moment then throws the match up into an often map dependent coin flippy role reversal. Now Protoss has all the mobility and expanding advantages and Zerg has the big slow deathball. Depending on tactics used and a bit of luck it can absolutely go either way, although personally I feel blink stalkers + mass recall and ignoring a big engagement is the most favourable choice, unless you get super fortunate with a big vortex play.

No love for NesTea as well?

Nestea is nowhere near as good as those two vs P

I'd say
Stephano DRG vs toss
Leenock DRG vs terran
Nestea DRG vs zerg

DRG obviously being the best zerg :p viOlet being a third in both ZvP and ZvZ or something.

honestly players like seal, symbol, and curious are better than Stephano in every matchup.

Tournaments like this are so much different than GSL because no one is preparing for Stephano.

I really think he competed in the GSL he would be demolished down to Code B almost immediately.

Making comments like that is pretty ignorant. Until Stephano plays in GSL you wont know if these results will translate over. He is VERY good. I'm not even a huge Stephano fan but anyone saying otherwise is lying to themselves.

We thank you for your nuanced "honest" opinion. I will let GomTV know that you already know the result if Stephano is offered a Code S spot so they don't waste our time.

It's a nice build but this one star gate play is able to handle it, I think. Star gate gives you access to void rays and phoenixes, which gives you map control because Zerg has no units that shoot up except queens that have to be in their base injecting, and when the Zerg is moving out with his overlords you're able to catch them and kill a lot of them before they're able to drop.

Then, with immortals and stalkers you're able to hold.

The trick, though, is to slow down the Zerg's timing. 11:10 maxes are not hold-able, 12:10 maxes are.

Cause Stephano might be slightly....just slightly overrated.

Yes, finally, someone saying the truth. Forget objective measures like Elo.
