I'd put Violet up there as well, he seems perennially underated. Which is really odd, as 2 of the top 4 Zergs are from outside of Korea (Violet trains in USA).

Yeh it's awesome how he got so much better after moving out of Korea, everyone would've expected the opposite to occur. Didn't he move back very recently though? I guess Leenock is up there as well but his zvp is historically pretty bad compared to the others.

I'm surprised people think the tournament would happen if it was free. These EXTRA events exist because they are PPV and are extremely expensive to run.

Exactly. People watching restreams are killing esports. And not joking. If you're not supporting via ads or ppv buys, you are dead weight.

oh so there is a difference if i don't watch at all or watch a restream? you can maybe say that about restreamers. But i guess most of people that watch restream wouldn't have paid after all and are watching it only because there is a restream , i doubt they are "killing esports"

No actually.
If you have a PPV event of this high quality, then people (if they can't get restreams) will want to watch so bad that they'll just realize its worth it for 20 dollars.

Saying "oh, but I just wouldn't have watched" is a horrible argument because in reality all you contribute is an increased societal faith in restreams, and the willingness to hurt esports just for your personal pleasure.

quote TB : If you pirate the stream, you're not a customer anyway so you're not worth paying any attention to. The kind of people that watch restreams either can't afford it in the first place so there's no lost sale there or won't pay for it in which case they were never part of your potential market anyway.

There's so much shit that people would pay for if they couldn't get it free. They are potential customers, they simply don't pay because they can get it for free. That's an absolutely terrible argument. There's a ridiculous amount of people for example that have bought SC2 because they couldn't pirate it to play online.

People have pirated a ton of shit that I'm sure they would have bought otherwise, myself included. And I would say this is the norm. People who say otherwise are often deluding themselves.

All the pirating convo is irrelevant. Pirating has been going on, and will always continue going on. People can bitch and moan endlessly and it won't change anything. Just like the drug war, when there is demand someone will always supply. Completely useless trying to stop it, so why waste time/resources making it a big deal? The only reason that some people go pyscho over it on TL is because they have some kind of moral hard-on that needs tending to every so often.

If my math is correct, the current ZvP record in this tourney is 32-13. This is a 71.1% win rate for ZvP in this tourney...

Since many Zergs follow the Stephano roach max in the early-mid game, and late-game is usually only lost if the Zerg doesn't split their Brood Lords, I am not surprised. I always thought Zerg would start to excel in the match-up once they learned to spread their Brood Lords.

This tournament looks just like my PvZ.

He could with his forcefields, by forcing Symbol to either engage up the ramp or at the 3rd base, both of which have obstructions to prevent Symbol from reaching the Colossi.

Unfortunately, Symbol's drops were the perfect counter to MC's build. His army was fragile in a head-on fight, so he needed forcefields + splash to survive. The 3 bases split MC's army up a lot, and the drops allowed Symbol to dictate where the fights happened.

Great play by Symbol, I'm just sad to see MC miss out on a rematch vs Stephano.

alternativ not taking the 3rd and losing anyway?

canons at the 3rd = less units = instant lose.

Seriously, why do you guys hate ZXZ and say it`s boring?

I honestly don`t get it. ZXZ is probably the most intense matchup of the whole game. Early game is based on pure micro. The best one with the best micro wins, simply as that. It`s not based on luck (some say it is, but in fact it is not if you scout properly) but on your own skills. I love ling / baneling fights, the decision making of each player to see how they can maximize the damage and stuff like that.

Mid game you need to find the balance between units and drones, really awesome again to see the decision making. What about mid-late game? Infestors play is AWESOME, and it`s even better when there are INFESTORS DROP or INFESTORS BURROWED, if you guys haven`t see that, give it a shot, It`s awesome and I hope we can see some infestor heavily playstyle!

ZXZ in a spectator point of view is just perfect. I`m not zerg and I`m high master terran.

I'm curious if you're saying that as a zerg player or not, because in all of my ZvZ experience its pretty much exclusively luck based.

I think he had to return due to visa issues, he didn't go back to a training house though I think he returned home to Jeju.
As for why he improved that's up in the air I guess some players simply aren't comfortable in a training house.

Piracy doesn't kill esports. Just like it doesn't kill the sales of video games. The people who pirate wouldn't have paid anyway, they would have just went without.

And that's the issue. The people who wouldn't have paid anyway, obviously don't find it worth their money. In that case they shouldn't get it. If they grew up and learned to make value choices like mature adults, we'd all be better off. Product providers would have to be more responsible if we were all informed mature consumers. (Because the opposite of the pirate is the blind consumer, who also hurts the market)

not true

if there was no piracy I would never buy broodwar of sc2 - never.. those games and football manager and PES series I have ever bought

if there was no piracy I would never know for so many tv shows..

broodwar is still alive and all of the streams (and vods) were FREE

and I just want to know does MLG pays to TLnet for free commercial? I mean, we have a link for a stream that costs 20$.

i think the fact that it says "*FEATURED* ON AIR" right below the calendar, should answer your last question
what if Nat Pagle and RNGesus are the same person?

Ugh, dude. why not just say you're having trouble with zerg instead of pretending everyone thinks zerg is op.
