I don't think you can hold that drop if you take a third nexus because you have to commit your whole army to defend one spot so you will always take damage.

Without a lot of cannons, no.
Blink stalkers are the response to that type of build. Symbol tailored it to counter MC's immortal expand style, which is tailored to counter the Stephano straight up roach attack style.
Zergs making use of drops delays their timing by about thirty seconds and with 3-4 less roaches, but bypasses the FFs completely. It's a solid style when not facing blink stalkers.

Symbol will win, stephano isn't great at zvz - Stephano vs Violet to fight for 2nd and 3rd.
Not going to watch so many boring zvz's so congratz to the winner.

He could with his forcefields, by forcing Symbol to either engage up the ramp or at the 3rd base, both of which have obstructions to prevent Symbol from reaching the Colossi.
Unfortunately, Symbol's drops were the perfect counter to MC's build. His army was fragile in a head-on fight, so he needed forcefields + splash to survive. The 3 bases split MC's army up a lot, and the drops allowed Symbol to dictate where the fights happened.
Great play by Symbol, I'm just sad to see MC miss out on a rematch vs Stephano.

Pretty much looked like MC was thinking what I think when playing PvZ. You have to win before 12 min.
Even killing 20 probes at the 12 min mark... They just laugh at that. It takes them 1 inject to fix their eco.
Haven't won a PvZ that has gone past 18 min mark in 4 months.

Seriously, why do you guys hate ZXZ and say it`s boring?
I honestly don`t get it. ZXZ is probably the most intense matchup of the whole game. Early game is based on pure micro. The best one with the best micro wins, simply as that. It`s not based on luck (some say it is, but in fact it is not if you scout properly) but on your own skills. I love ling / baneling fights, the decision making of each player to see how they can maximize the damage and stuff like that.
Mid game you need to find the balance between units and drones, really awesome again to see the decision making. What about mid-late game? Infestors play is AWESOME, and it`s even better when there are INFESTORS DROP or INFESTORS BURROWED, if you guys haven`t see that, give it a shot, It`s awesome and I hope we can see some infestor heavily playstyle!
ZXZ in a spectator point of view is just perfect. I`m not zerg and I`m high master terran.

as a toss, i hate vs any zerg.
Roaches are the most cost effective unit in the game. you can get so many out in very little time. As much as terran hates toss late game, toss hates zergs period. at least a terran can win mid game, toss can't win early, mid, or late game vs zerg.
