For Mvp to not even be completely crushed (mentally) after going up 3-0 and then losing his grip 0-3 with the possibility of the straight win for Squirtle... Mvp got the job done.

Well done, Mvp. Squirtle still a boss. Maybe next time, fellow Protosses x.x

Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.

sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN

So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?

It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.

I was entertained.

So you're saying it was good because the situation made it entertaining for a casual observer, not because it was an actual legitimate display of skill... Honestly, I'm not hating on MVP for what he did. He won, and props to him for that. I'm just saying it wasn't a legitimately good game with respect to a showcase of skill and decision making.

So you're saying it was bad because it was a coinflip?

I bet more than half the people ripping on Mvp for cheesing in game 7 are FlaSh fanboys, and yet they probably don't realize that FlaSh both would do this shit and does do this quite regularly. It's part of the game, Squirtle stopped it initially, the game was his to lose from there. Stop your bitching.

That was a great final, but Bonjwa? Really? Not even close.

MVP has been dominating for over a year and a half. It's certainly "close" now,

Dominating?

After his last GSL victory more than 6 months ago he disappeared from the scene with bad results even in international events (wrists or not).

One GSL made of cheeses, 2 base timings and allins (it's a statistic, not a "QQragenoobumad" thing) doesn't make him jump back into the #1 terran in the world chart

So? Flash also had some bad tournaments due to his wrists and he's a bonjwa.

but he had bad tournaments after he was bonjwa. and do you know what it took? wcg gold, 2 osl, 2 msl, proleague, proleague mvp, winners league, and being in the finals of every major tournament for a year.

To compare to Flash is unfair though. Flash was the single most dominant player in the history of BW so comparing isnt really fair. I know that when you want to appoint the next bonjwa he will undoubtedly be compared to previous but lets compare his results to all of them and not just Flash. Do his results compare to the likes of Boxer, Oov, Nada, Flash and Voldemort. I would say not yet but its coming close.

Boxer bunker rushed 3 times in a row, and a lot of people seem to be happy about it.

Probably the only time he got hated, so no your example does not compute.

Wasnt around when this happened, but thats the impression I got when people where talking about it.

This... No one is hating on mvp for doing it, play to win, no shame in that. But after doing an scv allin and not doing damage you should be dead, period, and not be able to comeback because you catch a stalker out on the map...

It was not the best played game ever but it was one of the most entertaining games ever.

Do you watch BW? If so what did you think of Bisu vs Flash ace match last season. Just curious if this stays consistent.

MVP is the best, yes, but he's not an oov or savior in terms of dominance, let alone flash.

I don't know what's worse: the people calling Mvp bonjwa or the people constantly berating the people calling Mvp bonjwa. Time to abandon this LR thread. Was a fun night. Congratz to Mvp!

Yes. It was all about the lead up and anticipation. The nerves and execution. The fucking jupiter sized balls to cheese in g7 of a series this intense.

You forget it's also the finals of the biggest tournament as well XD

Yes! Everyone knew that MVP was going to bust out a cheese somewhere, but to be able to do it like this in the finals? Especially when Squirtle held it the first time ezpz?

MVP Bonjwa for sure. What else you want him to do? He has 70%+ winrate and multiple trophies.

First Bonjwa of SC2.

Uhh, he is definately not a bonjwa.

It's definitely.

it's an opinion so... yeah

i'm not calling him a bonjwa because, even though he has 4 titles, he's shown that he can still lose to a variety of things/people

that is, more than what i would consider bonjwa

hm i wonder if part of the reason why MVP cheesed last game was cus he was tired or his wrists hurt or such

or if it's more just that, since he's already a great player and has so much money for "back-up", he could risk it by doing a cheese so that, if he won, it would be really epic, and if he didn't, he could just say "oh well, good for squirtle"

or neither lol

He did it because it was a huge macro map and he hadn't done it all series and was hoping to catch Squirtle in a Nexus first. Squirtle realized that Nexus first against MVP was too dangerous so he didn't do that, and probably thought he won the moment he held the push. Then he overextended attacking the barracks and got flanked and lost.

In terms of "does this show off skill and stuff" I mean yeah no the final game was a proxy 11/11... it definitely was what it was. A cheese. Mvp looked the devil in the eye and said "let me get you some wine because you're about to get cheesed"

But on the other hand, that doesn't stop me from really enjoying the intensity of the game.

Bonjwa is not about the amount of trophies you win. Its about the absolute dominance over the scene over a large amount of time. Of course, everyone will now hop on the Mvp bandwagon again, but at the start of the GSL, so many people were saying, MVP is finished, in a slump, etc.
If you only believe in him after someone won a trophy, thats not sufficient enough. -,-
Still amazing finals and gratz to MVP.
