Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.

sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN

So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?

In terms of gameplay it wasn't the greatest. But the story behind it and the intensity of putting it all on the line. It's kinda like how MKP did that SCV-marine rush vs Nestea in GSL2, only this time it was more intense. Even back then when SCV-marine rushes were easier to perform it was already intense. What more now, when proxy 2-raxes are harder to execute.

This is exactly like game 7 of the PL finals, and everyone loved the shit out of that game even though both players made lots of mistakes.

I see no difference, it was great.

Boxer bunker rushed 3 times in a row, and a lot of people seem to be happy about it.

Probably the only time he got hated, so no your example does not compute.

MVP has been dominating for over a year and a half. It's certainly "close" now,

lol no he hasn't. He's been up and down. That's not bonjwa status.

4 gsls the only wcg and the only MLG he attended he won iirc

he is the closest to bonjwa even if not there yet

No. Bonjwa is a full year of domination. No falling off. No slumps.

I love Mvp, he's my favorite player. But he is no bonjwa.

But this is rubbish, BW bonjwas had plenty of slumps during their reign. People are making the term more sacred than it ever was, with these standards half of the BW bonjwas would never have been labelled as such.

This, just be honest guys. We all know you don't want the term Bonjwa to carry over from BW to SC2.

man you guys are cute

Yes. It was all about the lead up and anticipation. The nerves and execution. The fucking jupiter sized balls to cheese in g7 of a series this intense.

The entire final game was so intense and edgy for me it was just 5 solid minutes of nerdchill.

It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.

I was entertained.

So you're saying it was good because the situation made it entertaining for a casual observer, not because it was an actual legitimate display of skill... Honestly, I'm not hating on MVP for what he did. He won, and props to him for that. I'm just saying it wasn't a legitimately good game with respect to a showcase of skill and decision making.

This was for me the best GSL final ever. Don't let the whiners get to you, this final alone would be worth buying a ticket for, just to watch the VODs.

Peace out

People not giving to MVP a bit of bonjwa status are just afraid of using the word.
Perhaps in the future we will see even more dominant players, and MVP wont really be a bonjwa, but he definitly will be remember in the history of Starcraft 2 as the best from his time.

His triple bunkmer rush v YellOw is still considered legendary.

hm i wonder if part of the reason why MVP cheesed last game was cus he was tired or his wrists hurt or such

or if it's more just that, since he's already a great player and has so much money for "back-up", he could risk it by doing a cheese so that, if he won, it would be really epic, and if he didn't, he could just say "oh well, good for squirtle"

or neither lol

So sad to see such a great final end with this unbalanced shit.

Look at game 6 where squirtle had 42 probes before mvp even had 30 scvs, races are different.

mvp cut probs for the all in, he stoped making them.. and squirtle picked a few off in pressure

Actually he didn't cut any... maybe for a couple of seconds but not enough to be suddenly down 42 to 28. All-in? He expanded before he even started the all-in and when did Squirtle pick off any? Squirtle poked up the ramp and killed some marines, then walked up and killed a marine by the bunkers and then left. Literally, no loses/no cuts, that is simply the power of chrono boost, IF you use it our your probes.

He was actually on 48 SCVs. Was hard to read because of SQ and the casters didn't have their own preview/observer screen.

38 iirc on higher definition.

The final game was super intense and dramatic. MVP looked like he lost to Squirtle's epic hold, then he pulled off a sick flank and micro'd his way to victory. It was super exciting.

Sick outtro at the end, love that they do that with all the players, really makes gsl feel more like a community rather than just the top players, smart move, need more of that to compete against kespa
