I don't understand why they would only include the map scores between the tied players in order to decide who advances. Seems like it negates all the other games played. Should have been map score first then h2h if there was still a tie, just looks silly that DRG is 5th even though he lost to parting (who's 7th) and had the same map score as him. Not that i mind since i just like keeping up to date with the scores rather than following specific players.

OK, here's how the tie-breakers work:
When 3 or more players tie in matches (in this case Heart, DongRaeGu, Parting), they are handled as their own mini-pool and their results against other players are discarded. Then you look at their map-scores.

Parting eliminated, SIGH

Well this tournament is tough but still I feel like he should have done way better.

hype hype hype..

he'll disappear in a month.

I dont think you believe what you are saying. Not getting top 6 in that bracket is nothing to be ashamed of especially if you consider it was very close between him and DRG. He is still easily one of the top 3 protosses in the world.

I like Parting; I think he's an awesome guy and I hope he becomes the next big thing for Protoss.

But Parting has had trouble fending off early aggression from Terran in the past (just look up old VODs of him on youtube), and this tournament showed those glaring weaknesses.

I don't understand the tiebreakers....

Parting DRG both are 3-4 and 9-12, and Parting beat DRG... Yet Parting is out. Anyone explain?

Looking at their rules, I believe Heart should be 5th, DRG 6th and Parting 7th

If Ganzi won vs violet then Parting should be out, if Ganzi lost then DRG should be out.

PartinG should be out, but if MLG hasn't figured it out yet, don't trust Liquipedia.

EDIT: In case people don't know, Liquipedia can be edited by anyone, it's not official at all, it's community updated. It shouldn't be considered an official representation.

EDIT again: It's still incredible, not knocking Liquipedia or anything ridiculous like that, it's just not official MLG stuff.

Parting is out because his map score in H2H is lowest.

It would be pretty funny if people here interpreted MLG's rules faster than MLG themselves

On top of analysts and observers, MLG is going to have to start hiring a team of scientists and/or a shaman to interpret the results.
