Its not really a conspiracy, more like a smart strategic decision that's also colored by personal ties.

MC, Parting, and MKP were hanging out together all day yesterday. https://twitter.com/#!/ST_PartinG/status/193596529511104512/photo/1 Plus, MC has said before he is not very comfortable facing off vs DRG, which he would likely have to do if DRG were to advance (even though he 3-0ed DRG yesterday).
Why would MC not want to face DRG his PvZ is amazing and he already 3-0'd DRG in this tournament.

Because his previous record vs DRG has been dismal. Also, he did manage to lose a PvZ series this tournament vs Violet, while he is undefeated in PvP.
Even if he didn't throw the game, he could've tried a lot harder to attempt to hold off the proxies if he was playing his hardest to win.

Though, he might want to face DRG now after the 3-0 I guess.

I still don't know how Huk regressed so badly while Naniwa is doing fine. Maybe Huk is playing LoL more than we know. Pretty soon all foreign SC players are going to play LoL because it's such a newbie friendly game.
I never thought he would go 1-6.. especially with heart/violet/ganzi and his great PvP against mc and parting.
MKP could probably beat GM's on NA with just his mouse. Truly the best player in the world.

The spate of discussion following the comments seems to contradict that.

Judging by the Group Selections, MC is friends with pretty much everyone (except for poor Ryung).

So, does DRG need to lose 0-3 in order for parting to advance?
|
I wonder if DRG has completely given up on ling/infestor.

whoa thought MKP was dead for sure. Pretty even now I think.

Okay I think Parting is officially out. Based on the tie-breakers it's head to head matches first and then head to head maps score.
http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/competitions/33#event_100_competition-format
+ Show Spoiler +1. Players will play one Match against each of the other Players. 2. Round Robin Ranking (1st-8th) will be determined using each Player’s Record of Matches won and lost. Ties will be broken using the following Tiebreakers in this order: Head to Head Match Winning Percentage (Matches Won vs. Tied Players / Matches Played vs. Tied Players), Head to Head Games Winning Percentage (Games Won vs. Tied Players / Games Played vs. Tied Players), and Round Robin Games Winning Percentage (Round Robin Games Won / Round Robin Games Played). If there is a tie involving more than two Players and one of the Tiebreakers resolves the tie for a Player(s), but leaves at least two Players tied, resolution of the tie that still exists will start over with Head to Head Match Winning Percentage. The higher number will win all Tiebreakers. 3. For ties that can’t be broken by the aforementioned Tiebreakers, Round Robin Seed will be used to rank the Tied Players for a One Game Playoff Ladder. The lowest ranked Tied Player will play the next highest ranked Tied Player in one Game. The loser of the Game will receive the lowest placement, in the Round Robin Standings, available to the Tied Players and the winner of the Game will move on to play the next highest ranked Tied Player in one Game. This process will repeat until only two Tied Players remain. When only two tied Players remain, the winner of their Game will receive the highest placement, in the Round Robin Standings, available to the Tied Players. 4. The Players finishing 1st-2nd in the Round Robin Standings will be placed in the Semifinals of the Single Elimination Bracket. The Players finishing 3rd-6th in the Round Robin Standings will be placed in Round 1 of the Single Elimination Bracket. The Players finishing 7th-8th in the Round Robin Standings will be eliminated from the Event.
Scenario 1. DRG wins, Ganzi Wins Heart/Parting tied: Heart 3-0 vs Parting
Scenario 2. DRG loses, Ganzi Wins DRG/Heart/Parting tied: Heart and DRG advances Heart 4-2 vs DRG/Parting DRG 3-3 vs Heart/Parting Parting 2-4 vs DRG/Heart
Scenario 3. DRG wins, Ganzi Loses Ganzi/Heart/Parting tied: Ganzi and Heart advances Ganzi 4-2 vs Heart/Parting Heart 3-3 vs Ganzi/Parting Parting 2-4 vs Ganzi/Heart
Scenario 4. DRG Loses, Ganzi Loses Ganzi/Heart/DRG/Parting tied: Ganzi won vs Heart/DRG while losing to Parting so he advances first.
Then we use the DRG/Heart/Parting Tie-breaker: Heart and DRG advances Heart 4-2 vs DRG/Parting DRG 3-3 vs Heart/Parting Parting 2-4 vs DRG/Heart
No matter what Parting has the worst head to head map score.
