Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

This pretty much sums up my opinion on Stephano perfectly.... Guy is obviously good, but people hyping him up as best ZvP in the world, code S etc. is just silly..... the hardest opponent he has beaten for his championships is polt. Now Polt is good too, but he's just another GSL average Terran imo... GSL average Terran who has won a GSL? How is a GSL winner just average?
yeah wtf, gsl winner = average terran, k

he gets stupid amounts of credit for beating players like white-ra, who isn't even a top 15 protoss.
He might be overhyped but he is still one of the best (if not the best) foreigner zerg.

did mlg upgrade their sound proof? I can't hear the crowd at all from the main stream

correct. They just picked him up recently. CodeA player. He crushed took out sase and while watching his screen live his APM was probably as fast as DRG and mechanics are 100%.

Yup, that was fun. Neither game was even close really either xD

Stephano just plays great. watch his livestream ... his scouting, his macro, his crisis management, his unit controll is top. That doesn`t make him unbeatable though. I will still be a fan - simply for the fact that he plays great.
I agree, despite he doesn't really scout that much^^

LZ is problaly still on contract which is why he isnt dropped, if they even want to drop him that is That explains a lot.

Heart's worst matchup is tvt I think. So he may lose to Kawaii.

Crazymoving defending this cannonrush nicely. Love it when one of these dumb cannon-attemps gets crushed. Even when it is done by MC.

No, he gets stupid amounts of credit for showing awesome games, winning tournaments, having a winning record vs most koreans. But mostly showing awesome games. His play. Just look at it.
But nobody is a superman, nor a bonjwa of anything, and anyone is allowed losses. People overhype, other don't like that and thus downgrade the guy to compensate, like you. :/

2 fan fav's favored to win the whole thing facing elimination in round 8 of 9 lower bracket rounds before even reaching the Champ bracket let alone the end of Saturday Favoured because they're fan favourites. In reality? This is no upset. It is an upset. Everyone saying otherwise doesn't follow the scene. Put HuK into the open bracket and not into the group of luck and lets see if the all praised player can be top 6 as well. Its just blatant bullshit to call Stephano hyped now, because he lost 2 series in total, to Polt / Inori. Who's calling Steph hyped? I think he's the best foreigner. Damn good player. He lost to good players. Simple as that. Stephano is unquestionably the best foreigner but there are people out there that would proclaim him as the best zerg in the world, best player in the world, second coming of Flash, and basically everything he hasn't proved to be yet.
I'm basically in agreement with you, but there's no point in declaring "the best" of anything at any point with such a young game. Remember when FruitDealer was the best, or Nestea had never lost a ZvZ, or Mvp was unbeatable, or MC didn't lose against Z... My point is, people peak when they figure out something new, and fade away as others catch up. Stephano hasn't really played that much yet, so he is riding the up-swing. I expect he'll fade like everyone else as time goes by. I hope he doesn't take the foreigner scene with himself...
