Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |
EG said 2 minutes after the forfeit deadline.
MLG has a late deadline and a forfeit deadline. You don't make it for the match time -> you are late. You don't make it for the match time + forfeit time -> you forfeit your match.
Osto took a w.o. for G1. The way he said it, had his friend not went to get Puma it was a comlete match w.o. That being the case this is EG's management's fault for not getting Puma there on time. Osto took advantage of it, sure, but not everyone is a knight in white armor.

I dont think EG, or any other proteam would willingly give up an advantage like that in such an important match.
I don't think cheesing players better than you is that sad, but obviously I'm not ecstatic about beating him in that way. Game 2 my mouse was glitching so I was tilted and just went all in. Bolded for importance. Can you EG fanboys please stop jumping on everything that the EG management targets? Now you have both sides of the story, it was VERY LIKELY more then 2 minutes (maybe not 20). Bolded for fallacy All that Mr. Garfield stated was that he was 2 minutes behind the time he is allowed to be late! He wasn't 2 minutes late, but 2 minutes + time buffer

Anybody who blames you for taking a free game over Puma is just being ridiculous. It was the obvious move to make in that situation. Well I wouldn't go so far as to say obvious, but it is certainly understandable, and players should never feel pressured to go against the competitive nature of the tournaments and basically be nice to their opponent. If they do, that's all fine and great, they probably gain some fans, but if they don't, they are just playing by the rules, so the blame lies with the organizers about that(if you find something concerning it unfair), and certainly neither player nor admin that enforces it.

The admins would literally have to be buttfucking retarded to disqualify Puma from a game over a 2 minute delay, I don't even think that's how the rules are set up. They would also have to be super retarded to do it just because one player was being insistent. It's more than likely that it was a longer delay that 2 minutes.

Why believe Ostojy any more then Alex?
Also his claim of twenty mins seems pretty bizarre given when the game started vs when it was schedules to begin.

In theory, that's true, but in the same way that Puma 1/1/1'd his way to tournament victories due to it being the best (imbalanced?) build at the time, he did pick up a ton of anti-fans. (me included) Regardless of whether Ostijiy's move today was right or not, his reputation will have dropped with a large part of the community. I suppose it's a difference of opinion then. I didn't hate Puma for his utilization of the 1/1/1, I don't hate Ostojiy because of his utilization of MLG's rules. I have no respect for guys that look for free wins like Ostojiy did. He was requesting the DQ before Puma was even late. He punked out. Thats not cool. Play the damn game. Dude, where you there? Do you know if what you are saying is in fact not complete bullshit? Don't think you do. Well ostojiy just said he could have made the series a full bo3, but didn't. Punked out.

I'm only watching these interviews to see how jacked off his face Clutch is on the party powder. I too have grown to dislike Day9. He's pretending like he doesn't think that he's the greatest guy ever; or the king of "nerds", while still thinking he is just that. And he's bad at pretending. Have to give it to him he has helped SC2 grow a lot though but I can't stand the guy.
wtf. i think you guys are thinking too hard. he is just a sc2 caster and personality.

I find it funny that people defend Ostojiy saying "he's a competitor" , well really? If he was maybe he shouldn't be a petty bitch and actually compete. So far I haven't seen him 'being a competitor".
A competitor doesn't shy away from competition, they rise to the challange so they can prove they are there for a reason. Ostojiy seems to be the exact opposite.

I would assume it's a semantics issue. EG is likely saying that Puma was 2 minutes past the time limit for a forfeit (which I believe is 15 minutes past match start.
It sounds like Ostojiy is saying he was 20 minutes late when compared to match time, making the difference between their stories 3 minutes or so.
I wasn't there and can't comment officially, but that's what I'm getting from this discussion.

zzzz when White-Ra missed a game at MLG by such a large margin that he was given a walk over loss then when he and his opponent met in the losers bracket his opponent forfeited two maps to him to make it fair.
