Not a lot. I could hardly think of a game where MC lost to a foreigner zerg, and out of all the terrans I only remember the thorzain vs mc series more than a year ago.MC literally only lose to foreigner protoss.

fun games the watch, if stephano went his normal ling roach opening it would of turned into another slugfest map like at lone star clash. too bad we missed out on that i suppose.

Stephano used to go ling infestor into ultras but stopped doing that against polt after that series. And in game 1 Stephano was a bit behind from the beginning. He used the exact same build he used in game 2 except he had to make alot of lings and lost some drones in the helion harass. That very late lair timing that day9 was talking about is not typical of Stephano's games. Usually he gets the roach warren at around 6 minutes, gets the double evos at 7 and gets lair as soon as he dual upgrades. Also gets his third a little earlier. But then again, most maps aren't as easily defendable from drops as metal is.

It's written in the stars that GomTV will give him a code S seed as soon as he steps off the plane. Did he ever say he wanted that Title though ? For him it's just math outside of korea he can make more money simple as that. And i can respect that, he never hid the fact he played this game for money as the main reason.

They traded several times with these compositions. Stephano won in the end. If T goes Marauder/Hellion and Z goes Roach/Ling, the game is literally on a knife edge until the numbers sway past that incredibly small tipping point, as soon as they do, the battles will all go one way and the game will slowly wind down. It's very entertaining to watch.

He doesn't play well tired and has a variable level of play over time, sometimes amazing sometimes quite sloppy, whereas someone as Polt has a more predictable level, which is totally to his credit btw. Stephano made this bo3, he totally threw away game 1 by making a very risky and useless attack while Polt was basically starving to death, he manhandled him game 2 taking advantage of Polt passivity, and played very poorly game 3. A "good day" Stephano would have won 2 0. Not saying he deserved to win btw, Polt deserved to win because he actually DID win, just saying while his play can be really amazing, he has some characteristics, call him flaws if you like, that will make it very hard form him to complete in a tournament like MLG.

I was at work during most of the games and just came back and saw stephano vs polt and would love to see some of the earlier games. the vod is immediately put up as one big block of footage, you can skip around through the couple hours as much as you want

So who can actually take Stephano on in a straight up zvt? I'd really like to see him against MMA, MVP or jjakji. Not taking any credit away from Polt, but it seems like if you let Stephano macro up he will just overrun you. I think he has BETTER infestor control/BL/late game army control than ANY zerg right now, including DRG. And he shuts down drops fairly easily plus likes to play safe with spines. Isn't that true for most competent zergs? Terrans pretty much have to harass early mid game now that Ghosts are gone. I think a lot of people are missing the fact that the ghost nerf doesn't just affect the late game. It also trickles down to the mid game. Of course, Stephano is great a defending drops. But I think you see a lot of zergs defend well also. I think that this is because after the ghost nerf, zergs know that if they can get to 4 bases and BLs, they have a great shot to win. So they don't have to spend as much effort trying to harass and trade armys. They can play more defensive. Previously, they had to deny bases/gases for terran because once the ghost counts gets to 10-15 with support, zergs had no shot. Overall, you see zergs play more defensively mid game (which leads to better defense) and terrans having to be more aggressive.

(info from khaldor last night at the gstl) the players you listed ain't stupid enough to play a no harass, 15mins game with ANY zerg. saying that, i reckon a mech terran would edge out a zerg army. but likewise, no zerg would let that happen.

Any Code S terran can take stephano in macro games, including Polt. One perfect example would be alive, who is undefeated against stephano, and all the games weren't even close.
