If Terran sits on his base until max and lets a Protoss or a Zerg do whatever they want, he'll lose.

That's why Terran has the most and best ways to harass. It's mandatory. If you don't do it, you can't complain.

i blame warp as well... forces toss early game units to be weak or warp gate timings would be op. in turn toss end game is really strong -.-'


warp ins, colossus, low apm - high reward units (like zealots), really strong aoe units that overshadow the gateway units.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

Yeah, just leaving a few stalkers in the back of your base is seriously challenging. and putting up cannons with 1 HT per base is the hardest thing in the game I heard.


Cause like 4 Stalkers can obiously defend a medivac, let alone 2, and no terran player ever sends non-full.energy medivacs..
Also really fun is when they double drop you and you have to pull half your army and then 3 marauders stimm into your natural and snipe your nexus in 2 seconds... Try playing toss and not get killed all day by this..

What impressive Korean Protoss has Polt beaten recently? He lost to Creator in Code A as well.

Creator, Squirtle, Hero come to mind.
In his recent matches against Squirtle he went for a very ghost-heavy composition and won handily by mass-emping everything; it was pretty much like before the emp nerf. (This could not have happened in this game because Boxer was set behind in the early game.)
I stated that at the time and I will restate it now: I think that Terran players might have overreacted to the emp nerf. In general, I feel that we have been trying to sit on the same composition forever while Protoss moved on to better strats.
I am a bit worried that Blizzard won't do anything before HotS though, but maybe that's for the best. The developers seem to like overly simplistic mechanics, which basically means that warpgate will stay broken until they rework it entirely.

Protoss harrass is awful? Warp prisms are the fastest, cheapest, and toughest drop ship in the game. 2 storms will kill an entire mineral line. 8 zealots will force an insane amount of micro and units from the terran. Terrans never have turrets or defense in their main vs toss, yet you never see warp prism play. Just because protoss doesn't harrass because they have no need for it doesn't mean it's bad.

You can't say Boxer needed to harrass, attack, kill Creator earlier and then turn around and complain about Terrans just doing allins against protoss.

Saying that a max vs. max with a small upgrade disadvantage is an automatic gg is ridiculous. If Boxer had 3/3 and Creator had storms it would have been an even worse crush.

Lategame TvP feels extremely broken right now, and you can't say Boxer played that badly he engaged fairly well he had ghosts, vikings and a small number of medivacs and got destroyed.

I find zvp to be a very dynamic and fair match up for both sides and really well designed.

TvP is the only problem here
Marine is Terran strongest unit but it might be Terran's biggest weakness. Bcos of Marine so OP, other Terran unit regrettably have to be weak..

That game had nothing to do with late game balance. Boxer ended up way behind because of all that early pressure at his ramp and never did anything to try and come back, he just played the game out from behind until Creator was ready to go kill him.

I think to win lategame TvP you need to have even upgrades, the exact right amount of Vikings and Ghosts and really outmaneuver the Toss in a way that for example his Zealots attack up a ramp with everything else stuck behind and being EMPed. Thats the only way to crush the toss army and you need to crush it because else there's the 15-Zealot-Warp-in that kills you.
Overall it's definitely possible to win a lategame TvP but you have to rely on your opponent doing a mistake.
Just ahead of time, know your addiction's not a crime. It's just a smaller part of who you want to become in the end.

two turrets won't even kill a warp prisim before it finds a spot to warp in, its so fast it will only take shield damage.

You just leave 6 stalkers in your main where the terran always drops, put up cannons at your third with an HT to feedback and if need be you split your army accordingly so you don't lose anything. Seriously if you lose a nexus to a few marauders because you have the 1 control group syndrome then you cant be any higher than gold league. And I play protoss as my new main race now, so I know what we are talking about here, but thanks.

Maybe in Diamond League you can drop freely, but once you get into the higher leagues where Protoss actually uses cannons and ht to protect their bases, good luck making efficient drops.


you dont have to drop on top of the mineral line, 2 medivacs can clean 3 cannons in no time, and considering how toss has to stay together to have strong army, you can easily punish them with your multitasking. its the story about "if just one medivac gets thru undetected you can win a game with it", suprised you didnt heard of it. there is this guy called MMA, y'know

also on this map specifically, denying third is so common, its unbelivable that creator got to 4th uncontested, really.

sad for Boxer, but he did so many things wrong...

The problem with this style is, you are hoping are a mistake from the P. If the P defends well, you lose anyways. I think we need to give P more harass options and T stronger late game deathball. Then the 2 sides can choose the strategy they want. Now, if P decides to go late game. T HAS to pressure.

You are aware that Protoss was getting beat so bad for so long that the logo for GSL articles on TL was a sad zealot? It's not like they've been strong forever. It's a fairly new shift in the metagame.
