Could someone point me to a video that shows why Flash is such a god to some people here? Didn't follow BW.

Flash is the best of the 5 bonjwas.
Flash holds the longest winning streak for both TvT (22 wins) and TvP (13 wins) in so called “regular games”.Flash is the most successful player in the history of progaming in terms of qualification.
After his 2010 achievements, Flash was nicknamed God Young-Ho by Korean fans.
According to TLPD Flash is currently the only player with a winrate greater than 70% in all of his matchups.
Now he is 14:0 in PL.

And in PL he wins some games "by accident"

Stephano is a great player and could easily be the best foreigner, but he isnt the best player/zerg in the world. People need to understand that dominating EU invitationals and going 29-1 in ZvP is a lot different to winning GSL. (Although this field was quite good, im not tryin to take anything away from him)

2. Stephano generally beat Polt on the ladder (go to youtube and search for Polt and Stephano).
3. Stephano is the best foreigner.
4. Stephano is a top 5 zerg. His ELO in international events is higher than all zerg's and is just below IMMVPs.

He actually just passed MVP. They already put in the Puma games.

Yeah but it doesn't really mean anything. MC and MVP play only in major international tournaments. If they stomped rotterdam in randomeucuptournament thing #5 they would have a higher ELO.

thats not how ELO works...

It was entered into TLPD. It affects his ELO, no?

What I mean is that your ELO doesn't increase by a whole lot by beating players with very low ELO (i.e. random masters dude at randomeucuptournament thing #5)
I'm not trying to say that the TLPD ELO means a whole lot, but just saying that playing a lot of low-skill cups doesn't helpt your ELO all that much.

the problem with elo is sc2 is that there isnt 1 pool of players, there a small bunch of players who play truely international events, the top x koreans, top x foreigners, but they still recieve elo from beating people who have never played outside their country, we all know genius is a great protoss, but because hes only played in korea how do we know what his relative skill is?

you only have the look at the results of someone like destiny to see that certain players style causes really weird results if you were making bets purely on elo numbers.

there is basically 2 distinct pots of players, with only a small crossover, infact i think it would be a better system to completely ignore games between foreigners and koreans when working out elo, because the cross over is too small.

Not biased one way or another, but that's because Stephano plays against lower level players in a ton of different events (with regard to his ELO) compared to what many top-level player do.

Elo, Elo, Elo. Elo does not mean as much if you are using it across inconsistent tournament formats in a game such as SC2.
We would just be better off if we stopped trying to argue who are the Top X players, but that will never happen.

No one in their right mind can say he's the best zerg in the world, that's just crazy. But I could definitely make an argument for top 10, and possibly top 5. DRG is my #1 and Leenock #2 :D

I'll assume that you're trolling and not know what a bonjwa is.

A lot of times the people who put Stephano on a pedastal like that aren't really Stephano fans; they're just doing that to get people like you to dislike Stephano fans.

I don't think you understand. He really is, arguably, the best Zerg in the world.

He really isn't while he proves his - undeniable - skills on inferior stages.

When Stephano makes it to a GSL final a couple of times, sure you can call him the best Zerg in the world. Until then, it's just blowing smoke. The talk around Stephano now is identical to the talk about Naniwa before he went to Korea.

GSL favors Korean players since it's their home turf.

Foreigner tournaments favor foreign players since it's their home turf.

When a Korean player takes a foreigner tournament against the best the foreigner's scene has got to offer, that shows a gap.

When a foreigner player does the same in GSL, that shows a gap.

I don't think Stephano will ever get to the point where he'll be able to show a gap against the best of the best.

For this reason, I think requirements like yours are way too high.

I think a good bar for Stephano would be if he consistently defeats GSL champions in foreigner tournaments. If he can do that, I'd be willing to say that he's the top Zerg, with the understanding that there can be multiple top Zergs around the same level.

I agree. Also, with Nestea playing how he play nowadays, the only 2 "top" zerg that consistently win in Korea are DRG and Leenock. Coca was another that felt above the rest while he was playing, incredibly smooth play, but he has been inactive for a while.
I wouldn't bat an eye if someone could think Stephano was Top 3 Z in the world. The rest of Foreigner aren't even close honestly. Naniwa and Thorzain are the best two behind him right now, but they're incredibly inconsistent, and i wouldn't put them even in a Top 10 for their race.

Well so in this game Puma did exactly the same opening he did against Stephano and did a lot more damage. Blame that on Lucky or acknowledge that Stephano did just defend it way better because he is a better player?

Must agree here, the difference between Lucky vs Puma and Stephano vs Puma is massive. Lucky isn't responding well to these drops, lost map control, sacking units when he shouldn't etc.
