The third on that map is relatively easy to defend. Idra's thought process was probably like: 'He's going to take a third because he doesn't believe I have spire tech up, mutas will be a good choice' If you notice, he didn't even have spines at his third until he saw the army move out and realised it must have been a 2base timing. this was what i was thinking

I guess I dont understand why after idra shut down Avenge's air attack and saw a total wall of at the expansion idra didnt sink a bunch more spine crawlers? Because what if Avenge was just going to try and play a macro game from behind? If IdrA then just made 3-4 blind spines, he would have sacrificed the advantage that he had gained from all the damage he had done earlier.

I mean, look at the way he plays - he's always the defender in this match-up. He defends and drones and defends and drones and defends, and then he either loses because he failed to defend, or he defends and builds up to 200/200 and then loses anyways because Protoss has a better 200/200 army. The only times he wins is when Protoss messes up one too many times and he is able to remax an army before they're able to put something together. Even with that level of economic damage, with Avenge basically screwing up his VR attack and letting zerglings run into his base, IdrA still ends up looking like he got brutalized when the attack came. For IdrA, this is because the match-up is broken, and maybe he's right. But whether the match-up is broken or not, you can't possibly think that playing a losing strategy like this and hoping that you'd win somehow is a good idea. If you think the match-up is broken, then take risks - cheese, all-in, whatever. At least lose with strategies that have the capability to win. wow, that's a big thing to say, you think that idra is losing because he is playing defensively @@ Everyone got their own style, if he play at a different style, then he cannot play at his best style.

ZvP feels like you are trying to survive until you can roll your opponent with mutas or infestor/BL. Such a silly match-up

He's been laddering a ton in Korea and can barely get above 50% win-rate, wallowing at around 150th place. He is not better than second string Koreans on Korean teams. Compare that to Stephano's record when he was over there. He was constantly pushing into the top #20 with a sick win rate. It's sad that IdrA isn't the foreigner hope that he used to be ![]()

If we look at the 7gate+robo, you have around 6 or 7 sentires aand a couple immortals. If you lose that much expensive stuff on 2 base there is no way you can recover. Generally if you have a good economy, nothing will be an all in

If he made mutas he would've had too few the first game. The second game it's hard to commit to roaches because he has that starport up and you don't know if he will get a second one
