Note: this topic is about the Nijmegen Student StarCraft League. For next year's Dutch StarCraft League see this topic.
Hi TL,
This April the first Nijmegen Student StarCraft League has started! It's an SC2 tournament open to all students in the Dutch city of Nijmegen, and we got a player pool of 72 people. We've arranged for a lecture hall in which to stream the semi-finals and finals live to an audience. We're hoping to get the e-sports vibe going in Nijmegen!
There will be one or two group stages and a single elimination bracket. It'll mostly be an online thing, but we will try to cast as many of the games from the group stages and post them on our website. In fact: all of the games from the tournament have been casted, that's over 60 hours of content! And obviously we're going to stream the offline finals as well. So we're not only focusing on entertaining the players, but also on getting an audience.
We've also got several sponsors: Cooler Master, Computerland, MSI, Gator, Flyert.nl & SNUF (great acronym, I know ). They sponsor goodies for the winners and hardware for use during the finals - thanks!
In this topic we'll announce updates as they come along, and we hope that you'll follow the tournament and tune in to the livestream of the finals. Or better yet: come to the actual event! It's on the evening of Thursday June 7th in Nijmegen.
The NSSL is really warming up! We're now actively looking for participants and have already found several sponsors. Cooler Master & Computerland both sponsor two computers for use during the finals (for playing and casting), and Flyert.nl has sponsored our posters, which we are spreading all over the campus. Even the University helps out in covering our expenses.
Unfortunately I have not received any response from Blizzard. I have filled out the tournament permission form on January 18th, and have since sent two reminders and have tried to call them (which is impossible). We're now working under the assumption that we will have their permission.
Also: several people have come forward and have offered to help cast some of the games. Most of these aren't even from the Radboud University or HAN University of Applied Sciences! This really motivates me to go national next year! If there's anyone here who'd like to help organize the Netherlands Student StarCraft League in 2013 let me know - we need people from all Universities and 'Hogescholen'.
Pretty cool. Maybe next time you can try including universities from other cities, especially tech ones (tu/e, tu/d), because those will most likely have a lot more gamers ^^ gl
Yep - we want to do a national edition next year! Are you a student from TU/e or TU/d? You can help out if you want!
Signed up a week ago but the website refused me, I think. Do you know if there are any masters+ level players in Nijmegen, don't really feel like practicing to improve. ;_;
There have been some problems with the form - I'm sorry about that! It should work now, so please try again.
I don't know about what level the players will be, it'll be a big surprise
But I just graduated
Haha - next year I'll have the same problem. If you're thinking about doing a PhD you might be able to join the PhD-league
Some thoughts about the map-pool: I'm strongly in favour of using the Blizzard ladder-maps simply because everyone has those. No haggling with people having to download the right versions of some custom map. Also: Blizzard maps have been more streamlined for use in tournaments anyway (no more gold / close spawn / etc.). Seems like a good idea, no?
The plan is to let every first game of a series take place on a fixed map, and then let the loser pick the next map. We're thinking about taking Tal'darim Altar LE as the first map - it's generally well known by now and does not have any major race-dependent quirks. Do you think so too?
The loser may then pick any of the other ladder maps for the next game, provided it hasn't already been played on.
Hope it will come to Groningen even tho we dont have a TU ( we do have tons of students ^^ )
@DirtyJack: next year the University of Groningen will most definitely be included - I know a few people there who can´t wait to get involved! If you want to help out too, please let me know.
Damnit... I started my masters this year in Amsterdam after doing my bachelor in Nijmegen T_T. Nice initiative though!
Is it a two-year master? You could still take part in next year's national edition
But that is going to take another year

You can always contact me (pm) , im willing to help out where i can... im studying at hanze ( "hogeschool") but i guess those are included.

Sorry about the confusion: there is no PhD-league as of yet. When we go national next year I do plan to create a separate league for PhD's though. Please let me know if you'd be interested in brainstorming about that.

Ah, I get it now. I currently don't have a lot of time to spare (or: want to make avaible) to actually help/support the organisation of this, but I am interested anyway. I was interested, because I was looking around a bit to maybe enter some tournaments for fun purposes, and as I am a PhD this seemed very fun .
This sounds really nice, very nice initiative. If it was any closer to Haarlem where I live I might even have considered opting myself as a caster since I wouldn't be allowed to play anyway (it's for Nijmegen people only eh ) but this is simply too far away. I would've gladly done it for the sake of the e-sports community in The Netherlands but too bad, hopefully next year you guys can provide a national tournament and in such a case you can bet on a tournament of international level quality for sure. Good luck with your first try this year though, make it count!
edit: blizzard maps still have gold mining bases as of now.. don't know if it's smart to only use Blizz maps.
You're quite right: Shattered Temple, Antiga Shipyard and Metalopolis still have gold bases in the Blizzard pool.
Hmm, do you think that would be grounds to expell them from the mappool? And should we replace them with other maps, or are five maps enough? I think it might be, and I still think that playing on non-blizzard maps creates lots of extra hassle...
Your thoughts?
I'm not from nijmegen or a student anymore, but I have some nice casting experience (GSS #4, ESL Roccat challenge cup, Grubby Jersey Cup, ESL Country Championship) so feel free to contact me if you need me for anything. I can stream and everything
It's too bad I cant participate, living in Nijmegen but don't study here. =[
@RoachCoach - too bad, but make sure to come to the finals, everyone is welcome there!
@Weiman: PM is on the way

Due to the recent MULE change I think the problem is less harsh than it was before. However, I still believe gold bases can turn games around that shouldn't have been turned around. That's why I would choose non gold based maps, there are plenty of them at the moment. Take a look at esl maps, gsl maps, and various other online leagues. However, not all of them are good and I would suggest that you take a careful look before you choose any. Your argument of an 'extra hassle' I don't agree with; what's the hassle in opening a custom game and download the map automatically which usually takes less than 5 seconds? Especially if the maps simply are better, I don't see the problem. But that's your decision : ). Depending on the format you choose (bo3, bo5 etc) you need at least a certain amount of maps, so I can't answer that.
I'm from Nijmegen, kinda weird finding a thread like this on Teamliquid lol, so random.
Anyways, I'll probably start a study next year at Radboud so I hope to participate then, I live like a 2 minute's bike drive from campus
What about the people who study in Amsterdam for example?

You make a compelling argument Perhaps we'll take the Blizzard mappool as a starting point, and switch maps with gold bases for GSL-versions (for example). About the 'hassle' I was expecting: I was simply concerned that people would start playing on the wrong maps, not understanding how the different versions relate to each other. However, I guess that's explained easily enough....
@Meovin- Students from Amsterdam can't participate in this edition, but are more than welcome to come to the finals. More importantly, however, if they feel like having a tournament too they should let me know if they'd be interested in helping with next year's national edition!
Having gold patches isn't that big of a problem anymore after patch 4.3 So I would just leave them in!
Please make it a national tournament, that would be aweseome.
On February 28 2012 02:43 Risljaninasim wrote: Please make it a national tournament, that would be aweseome.
That would indeed be awesome! But unfortunately it's really too late now to do that this year. The academic year pretty much ends at the start of June (after that students aren't usually around the campus much), so the tournament must start at the beginning of April at the latest. That said, it's too late now to start promotion in all other cities if we want to get a decent player pool.
I think it's better to go national next year and start promotion and planning well in advance.
I'd say: make it national! Or between different universities, kind of like chess competition between schools
@Argus92: Good idea! We could do a separate 'team league' if universities want to compete against each other as teams!
Nice, this is really going to be a sweet thing

Yeah, seems enough interest to go national I'll be studying at the TUe next year, so I could do some work over there then!
About the map pool:
How about you take all the blizzard maps (switch the ones with golds to MLG or GSL or w/ever) and then let people veto maps they don't want to play?
@bblack: nice!
@kedarking: That's something to consider. Ok, lets say we take the Blizzard maps - that's 8. One of them (Tal'darim) will be the starting map, so that's 7 left (which is plenty). We could allow each of the players to veto one or two of the maps.
I can see how that would be beneficial: if for some reason you are very bad at a map in a certain match-up you can avoid it. But what happens if you lose the first map and want to pick your map for the second game, but it has been vetoed! That would suck. Obviously the vetos would have to be declared before the start of the series, but still, couldn´t a veto mess up someones gameplan more than no veto could?
I'm not sure!
Edit - extra argument for allowing vetos: that would benefit players who don't play very often and haven't had the chance to familiarize themselves with all the maps. I'd hate to see players lose simply because they don't know the map. Our tournament isn't just for people who play all the time, so yeah: vetos might be a good idea.
2 vetos? Worst case (if no overlap) that still leaves 4 maps for a BO3, but in the semi-finals and finals (BO5) players will have only 1 veto. Sounds good?
Lots of starcrafters at Utrecht University as well. You should really try to make this a national thing.
I'll definitely do it! In the near future I'll start a new topic in order to start preparing for the national edition. It's tempting to go national now, but I still don't think such a big last-minute change is wise. It would be better to go ahead as planned and learn as much as possible, so that the first national edition will be a smooth ride
Awesome initiative. I'm studying in Amsterdam right now though TT. If the idea of university teams goes through that would be really nice. Good luck! I'll be following this thread closely .

I think if you made it national right now your participant count would be doubled. Since everyone has free OV going to Nijmegen isn't a problem
Even if there would be no problem with the participants, it's not what has been communicated thus far. Not only would it be unfair to the registered players who would then suddenly face a much larger opponent pool, but also the deals with sponsors and subsidiaries have been made under the pretence that only Nijmegen's students will participate.
So even while it is very tempting to comply with all of these enthousiastic requests, it'll be impossible to expand to a national basis this year. On the upside, it's only another half year before the next academic year starts
I think it is a really cool initiative! Since I'm not a student myself anymore, I can't participate in this tournament (sadly, because I love SCII and play often). I do find casting interesting and fun to do though. Therefore I would like to get some more information about the kind of casters you seek. I'll send you a PM about that =).
If someone would organize a national college league, I think I could fix a team for Twente university Good luck with your tournament though, I really hope you succeed.
@Razor: Thanks for the PM!
@Liveon: Hi there, I think we've met each other on Grubby's stream earlier Nice to know that Twente is battle-ready! Will you let me send you an e-mail once the preparations for the national edition get going and we need someone at Twente? Of course you can decide if and how you want to help once I contact you. If yes, please send me a PM with you e-mail address.
Right, but back to the mappool and veto's! I still think there's a problem with the veto's unfortunately. Because most of the games in our tournament will be played by individual appointment between the players, an unfair situation will arise every time a player announces his veto (or vetos) first. The second player could be in the lucky position that the first player already vetod the map(s) he wanted out most, and can now choose his second-worst map to exclude. A luxury that the first player didn't have.
Please note that it is impossible for the tournament administrators to mediate every encounter between two players and ask them about their vetos at the same time.
So: no vetos? Or do the benefits (less losses due to unfamiliarity as opposed to skill deficit) outway the costs?
We've decided to keep it simple for the mappool:
- Blizzard maps (all 8) - Every first game on Tal'darim Altar LE - Loser picks next map - Map cannot be played twice - No vetos.
Now to put it on the website!
Cool! What happens when a new patch arrives during the tourney, and the Blizzard map pool changes? Will we from that point on just go with the new maps?
Niceeee good luck !
@bblack: I think the Map Pool changes with the Blizzard seasons, but when season seven will start is quite unpredictable. It could start next month, or it could start once our tournament is over. I propose to stick to this map pool, even if the blizzard maps change halfway through the tournament.
@PoYo!: Thanks! I've replied to your PM.
Major update: the national edition will most definitely happen! Check out the separate topic here and please contribute to the discussion.
This topic will now be dedicated to discussion of the Nijmegen edition of this year, I will update the topic start in the near future.
And for all those who would like to come to the finals of the NSSL: check the event on Facebook.
Hey there,
Let me start that, as a student of the RU Nijmegen I am more than happy this initiative is going to happen! I just signed up so I'll see you there ^^
Map-pool imho should not only be the 8 blizzard maps, but should include maps like Bel'shir Winter, Daybreak and Metropolis as well. But it seems like it's already set so, it's ok either way.
Take care
Yeah it's all set, let's see how the participants do on the Blizzard maps

Hurrah! The NSSL is being subsidized by the Nijmegen University Foundation - securing funds like a boss!
We're also talking to several other parties for sponsoring, perhaps we'll even get some great hardware to give to the winners. I really hope to be able to give details about that next week.
Unfortunately the sign-ups have stagnated somewhat, but I still hope we'll get to a good 60 participants. If there's any students from the RU or HAN here who are still doubting: don't and sign up!
i would definitely attend if it were a national competition. gl with the tournament
Start post updated! Hope it takes away some of the confusion between the NSSL and the DSCL. This topic is NSSL only!
Any stream experts in here? We want a damn near perfect stream for the finals. They'll be on the university campus (76Mbit upload - according to speedtest) so bandwidth should not be a problem. However, we're unsure about several other things. The most basic setup would be something like this: - Two computers for the finalists - Two computers for the casters - They all join the same game. - One of the casters runs XSplit and streams to Twitch.tv. - Audio for both casters is recorded to the streaming PC for use on the stream.
So far so good. But then: - Obviously we also want to project the show on a big screen on the stage. We can't just take a fifth PC and project the stream from Twitch.tv, because the delay between what the audience hears and sees would be too big. And we can't just duplicate the caster's screen, because then the audience would 'see behind the scenes' as he manages XSplit. Also, the beamer probably only has a 1024*768 resolution, which further complicates things. How to solve this? - If we want to be able to add the occasional shot of the audience, the casters, or maybe even the players (who are sitting in a separate room), how would we get that on the stream / on the screen on stage? It would appear that we'll need at least a fifth PC + operator dedicated to directing the stream. But this PC can't simply also join the game and show the caster's view, because if you do that, the overlays that the caster adds don't show up (this might actually not be a problem, we'll just have the stream operator handle the overlays).
I know these questions may show a disturbing lack of experience. Please point me to 'streaming 101' where I may read and learn.
I think you could just have a dual-monitor setup for the caster who streams, which will allow him to manage x-split on a different monitor than where starcraft is played and overlays are shown. This monitor should then be doubled to the beamer, I guess.
I think it would be nice to have a camera on the casters, but more camera's (for players and crowd) would be a lot to manage for one person who also casts.
Right, so a dedicated stream operator on a different PC would be nice. That would allow the caster to focus on casting and talking to the players in the lobby, and he wouldn't have to make sure that everything about the stream is ok all the time.
Yeah, that's what I thought, just get the streamer a dual screen set up We need to make sure the graphics card in the pc's allows for that though!
We're getting 4 bad-ass gaming systems (from sponsors), maybe in stead of using two for the players and two for the casters, we could use one for the streamer and have the 'secondary' caster use one of our own (less bad-ass) PC's.
Indeed! As the PC of the secondary caster just needs to run the game, we don't need a state-of-the-art system.
Huzzaa! Cooler Master is sponsoring gaming mice for the numbers 1,2 and 3! I was on the phone with them this morning, and they're really enthousiastic
Huzzah! We've just received our 49th sign-up, which means there will be TWO group stages!
I hope we'll get to about 64 participants, that would be really nice. In the final two weeks before the tournament we're going to redouble our efforts in promoting it.
Also: I've spoken to a program maker from the 'Soeterbeeckprogramma' (cultural institute) this morning, and they are considering to give some kind of lecture about e-sports and the NSSL in the week leading to the NSSL finals in June! I really hope that'll be possible
If you got room to spare, I would like to come representing Leiden University. I haven't read all the the pages, so I might have missed something about other cities unable to participate in your tournament, if so, apologies.
Invitation aside, I encourage these kind of events to get more E-Sport activity in the Netherlands! Best of luck.
/Edit: I see now that i'm not able to participate, however, I might be able to help you out with streaming. I've got a rig setup with Xsplit which is able to stream at full HD (1920x1080).
@Uni1987: Thanks for the encouragement, and you should definitely check out the DSCL for next year.
As things stand now I don't think we'll need your rig for streaming at the finals, but if you're interested in casting some of the games from the group stages for upload to Youtube (or whatever), send me a PM!
We've just announced the 'Biggest Comback Award'. Now that's an award that could lead to some badass games
Any other awards that could motivate people to play epic games? I wouldn't want to encourage cheesing with a 'biggest cheese' award, but maybe something like 'Sickest play', or 'Sickest nerd' - although I don't really see how those can have anything even close to objective judging criteria.

I think the sign-ups for the DSCL will start somewhere in July.
Awesome thing happened: yesterday RotterdaM plugged the NSSL during his cast of the Lone Star Clash. Pretty cool If I can find it on the VOD's I'll put it here as well.
Yeah! RotterdaM plugged the NSSL / DSCL during a cast of the Lone Star Clash on Saturday!
See this VOD at around 08:53:00, awesome! I'll make a quick video about it tomorrow and post it on the website.
Big thanks to Wiebbe for pointing this out to me and searching through the VOD!
Wow 54 participants, why didn't I meet all these SC2 players before
I guess there's more gamers around than you'd expect I walked around in a sponsored hoody from 'Pack for DreamHack' and got quite a few people asking me about it here @ Unversity of Edinburgh too.
By the way: I hope we get to 64 participants, that way we have groups of at least four people in every group phase. We've got less than two weeks left for promo - so we're doing everything we can!
Nice! I just put up a video about RotterdaM's shoutout and Tweeted RotterdaM about it. Got a response right away
Also: we've got a fancy new sponsor, there´ll be an official announcement about it tomorrow, but I can say that it involves a nice prize for the winner!
It would be great for the show if you were to get 64 players. Maybe you should set up a deadline for people from Nijmegen, and then fill up the rest with players from other universities (random pick).
If you are still looking for casters, I would like to sign up.
@Uni1987 Don't think it's a good idea to mix it up like that, that would really give off some mixed signals. And even if we don't get to 64 the tournament will still be fun
And if you'd like to cast some replays send me an e-mail on contact@nssl.nl! Thanks!
Yeah even without reaching 64 the tourney will be awesome There will be a second group phase with completely filled groups no matter what, but we are closing in on the 64-player-target!
Only one week left until the start of the tournament. Exciting times! Sign-ups are now at 59 - we might get to 64 yet
I'll send an e-mail to all those who said they wanted to cast some games very soon, just to make sure we're all on the same page and ready to go
4 days left, just 3 more people for a nice round 64 participants!
2, just 2! Everyone post on facebook, quickly now!
We've come up with a great new award During the finals there will be a prize for the best 'fansign' in the audience - but we've forgotten what the proper name for those signs is! How are they called again?
Edit: 'cheerful' - thanks Liveon!
Maybe you can force some prominent people from the Uni to join in? For comedic value.
Also, will the replay's be saved/stored/collected somewhere?
Having prominent people play would be more of a tragedy than a comedy I guess But who knows! As the finals draw near we're definitely going to think about some stunts to draw attention.
And yes: all the replays and links to VODs will be on the website under 'schedule & results'.
Aw yiss, just got a new sponsor! MSI is getting involved - tomorrow I'll post details about it on the website.
I can tell you now that it involves a prize for the winner

I was planning on putting links to the replays right next to the results they relate to. But maybe a separate page with replay-packs and links to VOD's is a good idea - nice one!
News about MSI's sponsorship is now on the website!
That's our fifth sponsor, things are really getting serious! I've also been in contact with Club 3D and they are definitely interested in getting involved with next year's DSCL. It's really nice to know that it's not impossible at all to get sponsors for events like this. Thanks to all of them!
One of the participants has looked up as many of his competitors as he could find on sc2ranks.com, and of the 36 he could find, this was their distribution across leagues:
Bronze – 13.9% Silver – 33.3% Gold – 8.3% Platinum – 27.8% Diamond – 13.9% Master – 2.8%
Lots of silver leaguers! Makes me want to believe that I could make it to the second group phase
So sad that I can't be a part of this anymore, would've made a huge chance.
You certainly would have! Only one other master league player in the stats. But of course there might be others among those who's accounts have nog been found.
And make sure you stay tuned for the DSCL, we'll probably do a beta tournament in 2012 and of course you'll be able to enter the main tournament in 2013.

Yep - that's it! All of the videos that I'll cast will be going up there, but there will also be lots of other channels on which NSSL-games will be posted, as I won't be the only one casting I'll make sure to properly link to all of those places through the website.

<3 liquid ret!
i really hope ill get to the finals! and thanks to Frank for hosting NSSL
It's almost here :D GL HF to all the players, and hope to see you all in Nijmegen the 7th
:D Everything's set up! Tonight I'll do the draw for the groups, send everyone e-mails and publish the groups on the website. Those interested in casting some of the replays have also received an extended e-mail.
Ready to do this! I'm laddering a bit now, have to worry about my tournament life too
And the tournament...HAS BEGUN! Tonight at 0:00, VanCaspel closed the signups and set up the brackets, so over the coming month we can look forward to lots and lots of games :D
GL HF to all the players and we'll see you June 7th
Frig yeah! Exitin' times!
I've just randomly distributed the participants over 16 groups and will send each of the groups an e-mail. The groups have also been published on the website - check it out.
Time for this tournament to get going!
Yay 4 VanCaspel! This is going to kick so much ass! Hope we can get some really cool games out this tournament so we can continue to spread the word about next year's national edition! But first, game on!
Finkers out

Prepare for a glorious death
The first games are in, and the first webcasts are online! Please give me your feedback, we're always looking to improve.
The casts are in Dutch, by the way - so not everyone might be able to enjoy them...
Some more results have trickled in, the the big stream is yet to come. There should be 128 BO3's played before April 29th
Right now there's a new webcast online (again: Dutch), check it out and see some students duke it outhere.
Some really interesting and exciting games thus far. It's a blast casting them!
I just noticed that one of the players in the NSSL is also playing in the Dreamhack Stockholm Open this weekend: Druidz.Patjuh. See group 25 in this thread
There's just one other guy in his group instead of two, because there were some players who couldn't make it. So that means he automatically advances to the next stage. The other player is some guy called Naniwa btw. Never heard of him..., but atleast he's not a top 8 Code S Korean!
Anyway, let's cheer for Patjuh in Stockholm this weekend! GL!
:D Too bad Patjuh didn't manage to win, especially seeing as how he was up against these low-level chums
Anyway: he's done a 4-0 sweep in his group in the NSSL, so he's definitely one of those advancing to the next group stages. I sure hope that over the next fiew days a lot of results will come in, because so far still just over 50% of the games have been played!
It's probably because of the participant's student-mentality - but for the next group stage I might have to get a bit more strict with the deadlines...
There've been plenty of webcasts by the way! 45 best-of-three series have been commentated so far. A lot more than I imagined we'd be able to do! Big thanks to those who stepped in to help, particularly Rannasha who's casted about half of them!
:-O Rannasha Macro so good!

I can't say I'm surprised. I've been pushing my friend to play his matches from the beginning, but he still did only one (might have done 2 yesterday, didn't talk to him yet) but it's way too slow in any case
Yeah! Today I've played my final match in this group phase - won 2-0 But they were hard fought indeed! Both games turned into a sick base-trade scenario.
I hope that this weekend a lot of games will be played - and I'm confident they will. Pretty soon I'll announce the Tactical Brilliance Award - with a VERY special prize - to motivate the players even more.
Ohw yeah - group phase B has started, and there's a good chance that we'll be able to cast ALL the 89 best-of-three series that were played in phase A. Thanks casters!
Also: important new developments regarding gaming research! A research group from the Radboud University is studying the beneficial effects of playing computer games like StarCraft, so they were quite exited when the NSSL kicked off. We're now working together to give the tournament some academic flavor!
If there are ANY StarCraft players here who want to help with the research, you can do so by filling out the survey. But there's a cooler option: they actually want people to come into their lab to play a game of StarCraft while their heart rate is measured If there are any people here that live near Nijmegen and would like to help out, go to the StarCraft & Science page on the website: http://nssl.nl/starcraft-science. All the info about how to sign-up is there. Of you participate you'll get to help positive gaming research AND get the chance to win a pre-order of Heart of the Swarm or a GOMtv.net season ticket.
For science!
I so wish I could join in on this but instead of studying in Holland I decided to go to Belgium
Anyway, this is an amazing initiative and I hope that more will follow in the future!
@Miserie As long as you're a Dutch citizen you can always participate in the NSSL's big brother: the Dutch StarCraft League, to be held next year. Check out that topic. There might even be a bèta-tournament in 2012.
Special announcement! We have a new award for creative tactical play: the Tactical Brilliance Award! We hope it will inspire players to come up with awesome tactics, and we think it will because there is a very special prize associated with the award: a mousepad signed by TLO! A friend of mine had a mousepad signed by TLO at DreamHack last winter, but it had mysteriously disappeared from his computer the next day Fortunately TLO signed another mousepad for him! But once back in The Netherlands it turned out that someone had found the original mousepad, so we're now using it to inspire awesome plays in the NSSL
Do come to the finals to see who wins the award, and you could also win an award yourself for best cheerful
The NSSL-TV season finale has arrived! All of the 89 matches from the first group phase have been casted - that's 206 video's!
Respect for the casters, who are now already working on some casts from group phase B. And the RO16 and RO8 will be casted live, links to the stream will be posted here!
Cant wait for the first replays of Group B matches.
Well - they're online now Some awesome games so far, I'm really getting exited for the RO16 and the rest of the play-offs. One of the reasons is of course that I'll be in the RO16 myself
Group Phase B has ended! All of the players for the RO16 are now decided, and tomorrow at 11:00h CET we'll do a LIVE draw for the brackets at www.twitch.tv/nssleague. Nice test for doing live streaming too
Who are going to go to the live finals from here?
Pretty cool that Reddit's all over the NSSL. My post was at the top of 'popular' most of yesterday, and now it's still #1 in terms of upvotes. Thanks everyone! And come to the finals!
Just 6 days to go
Can't wait Lots of hardware in my living room at the moment - making sure everything runs smooth...
Tonight @ 20h the last set of quarter finals will be played! Tune in if you want to see who will advance to the semi's on June 7th!

Awesome games and awesome crowd :D It was amazing to be a part of this, looking forward to the DSCL :D
Tonight the very, very last games of the NSSL will be played: the continuation of the 3rd place match between Neretic and Bblack. It starts at 21h CET on Twitch.tv/NSSLeague. The BO5 series is at 2-1 in favour of Bblack, so we're starting with match point!
