The position will just be that much tougher to break. It's fucking ridiculous actually. it's sort of what happened in brood war. terrans started going mass goliath with some tanks.

The idea of thors is to have 1 at each base or a couple left behind to deal with muta Counter pushes. But they just had to make a more mobile version because 90% of people were too dumb to figure that out, so they just made em faster for better 1 hotkey action. Well, thors are actually pretty solid against ground targets as well but these warhounds would have absolutely no use besides shooting clumped up mutalisks. They get bonus damage against mechanical ground targets and are most likely terrible against biological. So you get a mini-thor that is useless against any zerg ground unit, seems like a nerf overall to me. In fact I can't justify making them in TvZ if they remain in their current form.

Ya, when the Range upgrade for Golioths came out in BW- they became super effective. And with that, mech itself. Looking at the changes to Thor makes me wish I whined on the Bnet forums more. It's actually a great unit, Terran just needs to accept the fact that they need to leave 2 or 3 behind when they push to deal with mutas. A Thor, and Turrets with range and +2 armor are more than enough to keep Terran safe. The smaller, faster, more mobile Warhound is just an easier unit to use, that is simply for bad players. So they can run back and forth easier. This is going to mean more unit clumping and ball v ball combat. If that is even possible.

We can assume that they will be less population than thors. If you can get 3 for 2 pop, like goliaths most likely, I suspect that they will be better than thors.

Good zergs figured out that all they needed to do was to add more mutas into their ball.
