Im not in the EU and I am also confused by this. To be honest I watched a lot of EU rebroadcasts in EST (GMT-5) because it was just more convenient with my school/work schedule.

All I know of DotA is that you kill things to make points to buy things and exp to level up in some way (level ups give you the points?) There are lanes and this splits up where people can go and you try to kill a something at the "end zone" as it were of the opponent team? Other than this I just see shiny lights and stuff happening. How do I know who is on what team? The bottom left has the green health bars and the top right has red health bars. Generally teams have a hard carry hero which relies on items, supports who revolve around stunning/slowing but have cruddy hp that support the carries, pushers which have abilities that make it easy to push the little guys back so you can take towers.

I know it's the "North American Star League" but shit, do they even WANT europeans to watch it!? Doesn't seem like it, very dissapointed. I would like to know it indeed.

I don't want to give NASL $10, show me a good reliable product and I might, DH, MLG, GSL etc all don't charge for their finals and all are at a reasonable time for everyone

![]() Its 5on5, everyone gets to pick one hero at the beginning of the game. All of them have different abilities and different strenghts. Some heroes are very powerful in the early game and get weaker and weaker the long the game goes while others are weak at the beginning and get more powerful as the game progresses. It is nessecary to pick a good lineup of heroes so that you do not get dominated in the early or late game. There are 3 different lanes (as you already mentioned) where the action takes place. So you have to split up your 5 heroes into 3 lanes. Most of the time this ends up in a 2/2/1 style. You get experience and gold by killing enemy units and heroes. With gold you can buy items that enhance your stats. For examplem you can buy boots that increase your movement speed or gloves that increase attack speed etc. etc. As you level up (by experience ofc) you gain more and stronger abilities. The goal of the game is to destroy the enemies main building, their headquarters so to speak. When the building is destroyed the other side wins. Thats it basically, of course this explanation is very very basic, since Dota is actually quite a complex game. If you have more questions or if you want a more specific explanation feel free to ask ![]()

It really doesn't matter if they are named North American Starleague, they only gain more if the schedule is suitable for everyone. e. and yeah, apparently it somewhat sucks for NORTH AMERICANS also. hehe, my sarcasm also goes undetected. It's just another instance where the NASL hasn't given full thought to the impacts of their decision, as nothing could support the decision to waste the afternoon with lower-rated tournaments and filler. The start time of the finals is awful. Even people on the west coast will be up later than normal to see the whole match. It's probably pretty nice in Hawaii...
