Anyone who continues this absolutely terrible off topic time of play debate from page 11 and onward will be banned.

The same goes for the regular crowd of:

-Balance whiners
-Stream whiners
-Event and caster bashers
-HoN vs LoL vs Dota debaters

Stick to the games and enjoy your free event.

The game might not be as over as i thought, but you got to remember that the hellborne team (the ones in the top right) have already lost all their outer towers and have no map control what so ever.
Legion team also has a pretty huge gold lead, it is looking pretty grim for hellborne.

Wow, MSI is really really good. Despite having a 11k gold deficit. They just won that teamfight and i have no idea how they did it :D

Thorzain 4-2 and Puma vs. Hero is always a great match *-* Puma taking revenge from Dreamhack, 4-3 for him this time?

EG vs. TL "rivalry" never gets old ♥

As a player of both DotA and HoN I would say HoN is harder by far. DotA is slow as fuck in comparison so it's much easier to react.

despite what you guys will say about HoN or really any game like DotA or LoL, it is an unforgiving game at a high level of play. there is a big disparity in what you will see between an average player and a great player.

pro players in HoN will often have around 150-200apm for controlling just their one unit for example. it is partly because everything that spawns in the game especially your own hero, provides gold once killed (you can choose to 'deny' the gaining of that gold by heroes of another team by attacking and killing your allied units/teammates)

HoN or DotA is especially unforgiving when you are a new player, even if you are just playing against other new players. the amount of knowledge and general control you need will catch up to you by the beginning minutes of the game.
i have played all of these games for a reasonable amount of time and with pre-made teams and i actually find it potentially more frustrating than most games of starcraft.

what i mean to say is, don't look down on a genre or game because it looks silly or easy unless you want to appear simple or silly yourself.. simple as that.

Well, the issue is that you'll have top tier DotA teams saying that being a pro DotA player isn't really that stressful or difficult and that they have a lot of time to do outside activities compared to other pros in different games. >.<

It was in some interview with a top Chinese team. I'm 90% sure it was someone on CCM (before they were acquired) or iG who said this.

Enjoying the games, but the casters do call games a bit early? after first few kills they already kinda declared Fanatic MSI lost.. I know that a good early farm does favor one team a lot, but meh.. found it a bit annoying.

Other than that, so far some nice action

TDM are kind of throwing with awful team-fights. They called it correctly, this game SHOULD be over. American teams also LOVE to farm rather than the Euro style which is more aggressive which will result in a longer play and more time to get back into the game.

Well, this game is about taking such little advantages, and you have to be so precise all the time, that probably the not-so-stressful lifestyle is actually a factor in performing well
Yeah, whatever

I think this is going to be really close. Hopefully we'll have another full series, down to the last map.

I think the barrier is teamwork for the non-chinese teams. There's team changes and mixing up a lot from what I've seen.

You do have the option to get VODs for a mere $10, and an event in CA WILL be at an awkward time for europe (and probably even east-coast US).
If they were to take Europe into consideration they would have no live audience whatsoever, people aren't generally excited about asc2 final before breakfast.

Agreed. Fucking whiners/haters, FUCK YOU.

unemployment is bliss

You think so? I prefer sleeping a few hours during the day to be able to go to work the day after. Also, not everyone has a regular 7-16 job you know.

Anyone at the event? How is the audience looking to turn out today?

haha despite what he says, i have a prejudiced image of that player having to have been a try-hard at some point to get to where he is. that.. or getting carried hard.
