rapha lost to his recurring sens bug.

a far cry from his 90% rail earlier in the tournament. you could tell he just couldnt hit any of his shots and it was upsetting his whole gameplay. sad final really.

cypher played really well but it was a real anticlimax.

i was wondering if anyone captured the moment when hero won and the TL guys rushed out to hug him and congratulate him. I was sad that Dreamhack did not capture this moment! Please tell me someone has it!

This was the first live event I've gone to and I have to say the atmosphere was just amazing. The stream does not even begin to show how loud and intense the cheering was throughout the finals. The youtube video someone posted earlier show is a bit better but being there in the crowd in person was just so intense!

Also, during the whole finals Day9 (and to some extent the other casters on the couch) went totally banans everytime there was a huge roar from the crowd, which was awsome to see. They were really getting in to it !

thats what happens when you choke, not because of a phantom game bug.

he was choking because cypher hit almost 100% of his railguns in those rail vs rail exchanges. (railgun average doesn't tell the whole story, you're lookikng at accuracy for many different types of shots that have varied difficulty)

cypher won almost all of the rocket vs rocket and lightning gun vs lightning gun as well.

cypher completely outplayed rapha in the games i watched.

Just managed to catch the vods and holy shit that was an epic series! An actual good and nailbiting final! ( not to ditch mlg, but their finals are crap, hello extended series).

Again big grats to hero and team liquid, keep up the good work.

How is that quality, when you only get 4 decent Koreans out there.
At least get 10 Code S players, then we can talk about quality.

If you're getting high level games, why would you care about the ethnicity of the people playing?

A lot of highly rated Koreans at MLG end up showing mediocre games for one reason or the other (horrible format rules, treadmill scheduling, bad form, not being used to one-weekend-long tournaments, tiredness etc).

The quality of play at MLG wasn't higher at all and this whole obsession with Koreans in SC2 is getting stale. You can't just count flags to determine the quality of a tournament.

God Bless you dude.

If only more people had your thought process on this site...

Actually, what should happen is for every big tournament we should fly out the entirety of Code S, because otherwise it won't be legitimate. Not enough Korean Terrans? Tournament was weak. No Nestea/MVP/MC? Best in the world weren't there so it didn't matter.

Great, great tournament, and really excellent finals. Hopefully MLG can change at least the quarter/semi finals and finals to not be extended series...

MLG actually does have better quality and quantity than DH imo. It's just that extended series tends to create bad finals. The crowds during finals at MLG are never THAT good because the finals are never THAT exciting. So people say "Oh DH was so great quality" but... that was just because it had really good finals.

Some players are better than the others at any given time, and some of them are Korean, that is the only fact. And even that is a meaningless fact if they show up at an event and don't bring their A game.

The current SC2 Koreans are neither superior nor dominating as a whole so that you can determine tournament quality by counting how many there are.

They are dominating and superior currently imo. Only 4 decent Koreans came here, they got a level playing filed, not like in MLG, none of them are eliminated by foreigners.
