cuhz.714 Grandmaster
qxc obviously going to take it
QXC did quite well at the last tournament I casted back with him in Fullerton. We'll see if he goes for a Battlecruiser rush again. ^_^ One of the best lives games I've ever casted. Compeition might be fierce if the guys from ItsGosu come as well as they have a SoCal presence. The divisions are gonna be tough.
I should be able to make this one to
Crota, you can count on seeing some of us there to
I will be there helping out for sure! :D
i might be there :p revazndude.523

U guys should also order the pacquiao fight, hahaha would be pefect :D
oh this is great!
i most likely will go, but dunno about playing
;D socal lovin'
Excited to see QXC is coming - maybe we can get x6mystik (gg's @ MLG Anaheim btw - you stomped me hard, twice haha), and all the CSL folks from the surrounding schools to give a presence. Represent YOUR area of SoCal.
Remember too, there are two divisions - Amateur and Pro-Am - so if you're platinum you don't have to worry about getting roflstompd by a GM.
I'll be there for the casting competition. I've asked a friend from San Diego so see if he wants to co cast with me. Should be a lot of fun but need to talk with Cable and see what the setup will be. Are we going to be livestreaming the event? Do we need to bring our own mics and sound equipment/laptops?
Going to be interesting to have itsgosu with FXOQXC playing and perhaps some more GM players as well. Will there be a player cap?

We're squaring away all the details of the casting setup, but it should be setup for you to use when you get there - bring your own mic/headset if you prefer something specific just in case.
Also, only player cap will be: (64) competitors maximum per division.

Looking forward to watching you play QXC

OP UPDATED - PRIZE POOL ANNOUNCED, Better Organized, 1 Sponsor Added. That's not a bad prize pool for a local event ya?

Myself and GoSuSTX will be attending Possibly another player from ItsGosu as well.

Finally, some competition for qxc and mystic.

Ya I'm starting to get pretty happy with the players who are interested. $300 is not a bad prize for 1st place, and we're paying out all the way to 8th place, along with goodies.
I definitely recommend letting your friends know, and getting more people in here. They really have a shot, and it will go a long way toward continuing to show the magnitude of eSports presence here in Cali.
On October 31 2011 04:44 siist3m wrote: Oh yeah thats right! You did something with the barcrafts there, right?
siist3m,
Ya I was the organizer of BarCraft Irvine - which had a showing of over 400 people. We had a mini tournament after the Saturday one, ended up being I think a 12 person bracket - and it was a TON of fun! So we wanted to expand it.
only if it was sunday >_< i might go aswell.
I'm a longtime plat player (yay? maybe?), but possibly on the verge of being bumped into diamond. If I sign up now for the noob division, would I be allowed play there, or would i get stuck getting my ass kicked in the uppper div?

I'll be attending. Crotchhammer.835

Audemed - It will depend on what your rank is on the day of the event (we'll have a comp at the registration desk opening peoples' in-game-profiles to check). SOO, if you want to play as amateur, I'd suggest somehow stay in Plat... lol. I wouldn't suggest throwing any games *cough NesTea cough*, just play lots of customs to train.

Nice Mach! Do it....... and bring your team man. I heard you guys on your stream Bring HD's brother haha, and HD if he wants to check it out.
I really wish I could come up to your LAN the weekend after, I'm just putting on BarCraft that weekend here in Irvine so there's no possible way. Maybe we'll be able to combine forces in the near future for the next stop We'll talk.

Got you registered Dice.
We've arranged with the arena to open at 8am to accomodate the event. So you can come early to warm up register and warmup, first come first serve.
1st Rnd Matches will start at 10am prompt.

Hey Cable! My friends and I will definitely be coming out to see you there and cheer folks on. Great to see some local pros coming out!
Also, for a local tournament, I absolutely think $300 is a solid first place prize. :D

Nice Laeryken! Looking forward to it - Gonna be a very fun event, with some cool people, and cool giveaways/prizes. I hope to get more sponsors onboard for the Decemeber event. Hopefully we can impress them well enough with this one

Don't stay up too late. Good luck!
How will the caster's competition work? Do we just show up before 10am? If I can't or don't cast, I'll compete. GetGLiTCHED.294 Diamond Zerg

Dam I just found out about this now. December LAN Circuit, please be in the OC!
:'(
Wish I could be there, guys, but doing League tournament matches today.
Great event so far! People need to come out and chill with us!
Everything alright in Irvine? No one died yet?
how much longer is it going on?
is it just me or is the bracket not updating. Or is round 1 just taking 4 hours.
seems like in ro16 atm. The planned schedule runs to 8pm or so.
From what I see in the stream
ro16
Mystic 2-1 Swarm Russano 2-0 ???
Russano to the semifinals, I think?
Damn it I forgot about this tournament Wanted to play a lan for once..
Great tourney guys...I had a blast.
Is this tournament really going that slow, or are the brackets not being updated? I am curious to see how its going. Also, I don't have FB, if thats where the updates are going. =(
yeah I was ready to follow this but then the bracket never updated so....
They are not updating the bracket at all. But Russano in RO4, so is Clashpanther, GosuSTX, and Mystic
sorry for not updating the bracket. We don't have enough manpower to get someone constantly updating it.
That will be fixed next time.
Great event. I had a lot of fun and I went way farther in the amateur division then I thought I would.
I don't mean to sound like a dick at all but from the posting on Facebook and this thread it says the top 8 in the amateur division would get item prizes. I placed I believe 6th, but I know i was in the top 8 for sure. I was told before i had left that only the top 4 would get prizes. Curious if it was a mistake or was I suppose to win a prize?
Again great event, great crowd, and everyone in charge was super cool and friendly.
About to cast! Come tune in ^_^
Russano playing like a boss. Great job repping AudioBuilds!
Winner's Final AB.Russano vs GoSu.Rhythm
Loser's Semi GoSu.STX vs x6.Mystik
Amateur Tournament Finals TheWoozy vs Audemed
So who won? Anyway we could see a top 8?
This was so much fun. I'm so glad I got a chance to cast some games here.
Grand Finals AB.Russano vs GoSu.Rhythm
This is a rematch of the Winner's Final. GoSu.STX placed 3rd in the Pro-Am tournament and won $100.
Congrats Audemed for coming back from 0-2 against LagTT.TheWoozy to win the Amateur tournament!
Congrats Audemed! My friend Heliometus went 3rd, both of those guys did fantastic!
Fantastic tournament all. It was truly a pleasure to observe, and I have to say pretty well run. Shout outs to CableSC and Tyrantt for helping that out!
Grats to Rhythm or Russano, and btw it's PVP, Rhythm playing Toss also. :D
The Grand Finals is a rematch of the Winners Final between AB.Russano vs GoSu.Rhythm. Since this tournament used the MLG ruleset, the final set became an extended bo9 series starting 1-3. Despite starting with a two-game deficit, Rhythm came back with some tricky proxy play to win the whole thing at 5 - 4.
Congrats Rhythm for winning $300 on the first ever SoCal eSports LAN!
Pro-Am 1. GoSu.Rhythm (aka Bubbles) - $300 2. AB.Russano - $200 3. GoSu.STX (aka Shield) - $100 4. x6.Mystik - $50 5. ClashPanther - $40 6. ? - $30 7. Spydo - $20 8. Frosty - $10
Top 8 placement also received item prizes.
Amateur
1. Audemed 3. LagTT.TheWoozy 3. Heliometus
Awesome event guys, I'll definately try and make the next one if I can. Bit disappointed i couldn't close out the last win, but congratz to bubbles on the win. Thanks a bunch to all the supportive people I met at the lan. Hope you guys all make it out to future events. Much love.
Hey guys, great event! Definitely worth it to come up to Irvine from San Diego. Was wondering if you guys wouldn't mind posting up the finished brackets or at least the top 16 to see how those "socal nerd swagger points" work out :D See you guys at the next event!
awesome event! Definitely, did not regret spending all of my Saturday there. Met some awesome people, and learned a lot of things!
The only thing I did not like was the internet connection at the Lan center. Everyone seemed to be spiking in there games. Other then that, the LAN center was clean, friendly, well organized, and had nice computers~
See you guys next time!
It's a traveling circuit. The next venue will be better. Cable is on top of it already.

your listi s wrong. 4th place = me (brobocop) 5th = winner of clash/mytik 6th = loser of clash/mystik.
I beat clash and stx beat mystik making their games consolation for 5th/6th.

Ah, my bad. The staff members will post official results after they wake up.

Had an amazing time! Huge rush playing in that kind of setting, especially the finals!
Thanks for putting it on, I definitely will be attending the next! Prizes were pretty cool too for being in the noob division; I got a signed White-Ra mousepad (2 now!!!!) and *4* hours of GM coaching!!
I had a great time at this, (even though losing to two zerg ) and will def. go to the next one and help make this grow.
It was a great event, thanks for putting this on Cable and everyone else. Your guys effort really showed!

OP Updated with winners, exact prizes distributed, and more. We will we be sending NASL the email list for all those who requested the free Grand Finals tickets, and they will get those to you shortly.
Also, sorry that the online bracket was not updated on the fly as it should have been. We're going to have that figured out a little better next time - there was some confusion between the way the online bracket worked, and our paper bracket worked - so we went with whatever would benefit the players and the RL competition the most. We will be putting the entire bracket up this week, most likely as a liquipedia page as well.
Please, we're eager to have feedback, constructive criticism, suggestions, improvements, etc. Let us know!

Glad you had fun and enjoyed the event! This was complained about by a few at the event, but the 'items' that were actually acquired were hours of coaching by high level players - we didn't forget about you, despite what some may have been confused by. Those emails have been sent out regarding coaching, so if you were top 8 in Am division, check your inbox.

Agreed, that was I think one of the main weakneses of the venue, but future venues will be secured with solid internet connections - if nothing else upgraded specifically for that month to host the event.

I know they showed it on stream before we gave it away, I'll see if we can track down the video
It was for the most wins under 6min... and he definitely came out with that stat hahaha.

HEY! It wasn't my fault I had to play bubbles 9 times.....or that people died to my 8 gates.......or that I mothershipped rushed...oh I kinda did deserve it I guess...
My parents actually really enjoyed the cheese, and made grilled cheese sandwhiches a couple times. So I think I'm gonna go for that prize again next time lol. So I can't take a picture of it, as its kinda already been eaten lol.

Understood. Based on constraints with everyone's vacations, finals schedules, and to not directly step on the toes of any other local LANs, this was the only, fairly optimal date available. The only date thereafter would be 24th - day before xmas - before would be 10th/11th, which again is many peoples' finals. I'll keep thinking about it, but likely it won't change.
eSports Lifestyle man
Edit: is the bay area one the "Zerg Christmas" one?
Dbl Edit: Another option may be to do it on that Friday, the 16th. Would that be more feasible for competitors to make both tournaments? Just another thought/option nothing concrete yet. Also, is everyone off school on the 16th? Like all the colleges, High Schools, etc.?
I dont think I have friday off =/

A lot of people might have work on Friday *cough*includingme*cough* :x So if it's on Friday it might have to start laaate and end laaaate D:

u should stick with saturday, 1 of my teammates is flying from another state and wanted to compete in the lans in california, so saturday would be really good if possible.

Good points everyone. Considering people having to work, some peoples' finals schedules, high schools are not off yet... I think it best to hold to Saturday Dec 17th.
Thanks for all of your input in this regard. Look for an official announcement soon, likely the beginning/middle of next week since we have the holidays this weekend.

Check it out! Tell your friends. Prize pool is equal to Irvine event for the time being, although we're hoping some of our sponsors pull through and we can bump it up for you guys. Also, if we break some entrant number thresholds, we will be able to increase the pool further.
