<sniff> So proud of the foreigners. Very likely the most difficult tournament outside of Korea in the short life of SC2 and a a foreigner wins with another getting 4th.
EG did well overall. Huk, puma and Idra in the top 7 shows how powerful that line-up is. Would love to see them in the GSTL. With demuslim those 4 could compete for sure.
This makes it even more mind blowing how players like incontrol/machine/axslav aren't significantly better given their practice partners.
The exact seed is probably irrelevant past the groups 1-4 5-8 9-12 13-16

MVP is getting a Gom invite, don't worry.
But the format shown in liquipedia page doesn't account for any Gom invites, so I thought only GSL players seeded in the top 16 already would be flown in by gom? And even if Mvp got flown in he'd have to play in the open bracket? Because there's nothing in the format that would allow him to get seeded in
Except for the combo of jetlag + playing loads of game = fatigue, I don't see MVP having any issues just cruising through the open bracket.
It's still stupid for a champion of one of the tournaments in the pro circuit doesn't get automatic seeding into the big finale.
Those are the rules. Making an exception would be stupid and unfair. Mvp prioritized (and rightfully so) GSL over MLG, thats why hes not here, no one should blame him or the MLG organization here.
I'm not saying they should make exceptions, just that it's very stupid that such a major detail like a champion not being seeded was overlooked in the way the format was set up.
It seemed only logical that if you were a champion of one thing you would return to win it again.

Oh I definately agree. Having arguably the best player in the world and a previous MLG champ in open bracket is kind of strange. Just saying he is still going to reach the pool play with ease, he probably won't drop a single map in open bracket (unless he has some bad luck with the brackets). No matter who he faces in open bracket, he's the favourite to get through.
Though MLG should really have all their champions in the season finale (or whatever you want to call it)

Remember MVP has CPS on both of his wrists, so his stamina is pretty low. I doubt he can play too many games in top condition.

saying huk is not a foreigner is discrediting imo.
Discrediting what?
discrediting his achievements.
What? Not serious?
of course serious. it sometimes sounds like if some people give more props to korea (korean training) than to the individuals that achieve great results.
