When playing Roach style, you build 70 drones, then turtle until you hit 200/200 roaches and attack the Protoss' third. With Ling Muta, you're constantly multitasking, which really fits Idra's style. Not only that but I feel like toss will have a little bit harder time with Idra's muta control...especially if they don't have blink yet.

With Ling Muta, you're constantly multitasking, which really fits Idra's style. its not the same in pvz, you cannot keep ling muta viable for such a long perioud of time as you can in zvt, once they get blink and storm all the food in muta's simply go to waste, as well as lings. Generally you can only go muta for a short perioud of time and then you need to switch out of it into roach baneling bombs or some sort of better tech that can actually fight units.

watching the vod idra vs bomber, since i missed it, and I'm getting tired of day9 calling adrenal glands a "free" upgrade. A free upgrade is something when the cost is 0. Not 200 min 200 gas. Also idra was starved for gas. can't believe day9 didn't notice that. small point, but it gets tiresome here it for the 9th time its a "free" upgrade

Idra has stated in the past why he does not do this style: it just strait up dies to a number of 2 base gateway timings.

At a certain point an upgrade pays for itself when you have a 200/200 supply. Having even 50 units that use the upgrade means it's worth it, it's essentially free in the equation once you consider opportunity cost. For instance, would you buy a stock which you knew would generate 50 dollars per share per month if it cost 40 dollars per share? Yes! It would essentially be a free stock.

It was truly an amazing game though and if it wasn't for Idra eliminating Bomber we might have had yet another Korean terran winning the final, so many thanks to him. ![]()

No it would not be free, since you would still need to have the capital available to invest in it and have excess resources so you could tie them up until the point where the investment is returned. Not free.
