Idra got a Code A spot for his return to Korea at least.

I think qualifying through MLG is legit. As I recall, what Jinro refused was an offer to get into Code A solely based on who he is, without qualifying. But achieving a strong finish in MLG would probably be an acceptable qualifier for Code A.

discrediting his achievements.

What? Not serious?

of course serious.
it sometimes sounds like if some people give more props to korea (korean training) than to the individuals that achieve great results.

well it is without question to say that training in korea has helped him far more than help from his teammates or players from america.

I find it funny how InControl out ranks so many people like MVP, MKP, Hero, WhiteRa, and many others. There needs to be point decay over time or very high placements should be worth more.

Oh wow. This sucks so bad that I missed this tourney Congrats to Huk! Maybe he'll bounce back next code S. Idra looks like IEM wasnt just a fluke and his play is really getting better. Damn he took out Bomber and stuff. Too bad he has to actually play ZvP in Code A though. If he keeps playing this well he might make it to the up and downs.

The exact seed is probably irrelevant past the groups 1-4 5-8 9-12 13-16

Edit:

Incontrol #16
Mvp #19
TT

MVP is getting a Gom invite, don't worry.

But the format shown in liquipedia page doesn't account for any Gom invites, so I thought only GSL players seeded in the top 16 already would be flown in by gom? And even if Mvp got flown in he'd have to play in the open bracket? Because there's nothing in the format that would allow him to get seeded in

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_MLG_Pro_Circuit/Providence

Remember MVP has CPS on both of his wrists, so his stamina is pretty low. I doubt he can play too many games in top condition.

Except for the combo of jetlag + playing loads of game = fatigue, I don't see MVP having any issues just cruising through the open bracket.

It's still stupid for a champion of one of the tournaments in the pro circuit doesn't get automatic seeding into the big finale.

Oh I definately agree. Having arguably the best player in the world and a previous MLG champ in open bracket is kind of strange. Just saying he is still going to reach the pool play with ease, he probably won't drop a single map in open bracket (unless he has some bad luck with the brackets). No matter who he faces in open bracket, he's the favourite to get through.

Though MLG should really have all their champions in the season finale (or whatever you want to call it)

What's CPS?

He has severe Carpal tunnel

#1 plays #4 assuming they both win there matches, and #2 plays #3, so theoretically easier side of the bracket.

Yeah, how stupid that MLG has a system encouraging players to participate in as many MLG tournaments as possible.

Hilariously, #4 is the only top 4 Korean (MMA). Given this is Idra, though, MMA is preferable to HuK or NaNiWa. Of course, that's assuming MMA beats MC in the Winner's Ro16 (if MC advances), adding even more hilarity to the seeding potential.

There is decay after the season ends. Baseball games in april count as much as games in september.

To all of you who had a silver membership this weekend (access to quad view), the player is still up and you can rewind/fast forward through any of the games today. Just thought I'd let everyone know

Still a little sad that we didn't get to see a foreigner take first place. These koreans keep dominating everything. Anyway, congratz HuK. I'm sure EG will pay you even more now.

Just saw this:
http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/motbob/Providence_full.png

Pretty sure Idra wants Naniwa's spot right now...heck, even HuKs. Hilarious that Idra's best case scenario is to face Bomber, then MMA (or...I guess Kiwikaki).
