MLG just needs to make the Grand Finals a Bo7.

It's been an anticlimatic Grand Finals in every MLG thus far.

Sure there were some exciting games, but the shortness of the series makes the whole thing feel like MLG is just trying to hurry the players along so they can pack up and go home.

Wake up and see the results, I must admit I was betting on TheSTC to take it home ; he's a terran after all and with the struggle protoss players seemed to have... well that was before the latest results. Atm race are pretty equally represented (apart from Code S). I'm really happy for HuK and idra, and I have the feelings foreigners are stepping it up a bit, eve if there's still a relative gap. Gratz to all !

HUK played very very well and deserved the win!!
Finally MC Performed well and hope he gets back to code S.

I just cant understand why Thestc is stuck in code B.

Love the foreigners performing finally. No much domination like before

Loved the MLG

MLG FIGHTING!!!

Got home from Orlando a bit ago, best weekend ever? Yeah. I can count on one hand the number of sporting events I've been to which were that intense and exciting.

One lil disappointment I have is watching the vod's, it seems like the only microphone they had for the audience was the casters'. Because when the crowd is only noticeably audible on the vod, (such as when MKP or Boxer lifted their cc's), in the venue it was DEAFENING.

Pretty much every match involving any combo of MKP, Huk, Idra, Bomber, and Boxer had the audience going wild the entire time.

Fun fact: the winner of the upper bracket has always won the MLG without exception. That's why I went to bed after Huk-TheSTC.

Damn, the only two non Koreans in the top 8 (money spot), are from team EG. And EG gets 1rst 4th and 7th spot. Pretty impressive teamwise, same as at IEM Ganzhou (or something close).
Very nice work from them, seems they found some good training and managment techniques.

Huk just showed that he is the best SC2 player (non korean) in the world. Up until recently he was the only player to really win a tournament with good koreans in it. Then Idra won a semi heavy tourney vs some lesser skilled koreans, Stephano did a good tourney win but still not vs top koreans.

But this MLG was just the biggest tourney win so far outside korea. I mean sure you lacked some big names both koreans and foreigners but the people present and the koreans present was just insane.

and Huk winning his group is just amazing. Look at Idra who had the easiest group possible and still did not finish on top. Huk is just a monster!

Well deserved and congrats Huk!

No idea what people see in TheStC. I think he's benefiting from the Tester effect. Both of them were beasts in the Beta but then didn't get to play for awhile (StC because of military, Tester because of getting cheesed out in the GSL preliminaries). Everyone just assumed they were still gosu beasts but when they finally got back the overall skill level had increased to the point where they weren't anything special anymore.

I just realized that this is the 3rd or 4th time that MKP lost to the eventual winner of the tournament. Every GSL he has lost to eventual tournament winners

Isn't it amazing the shout-outs Huk gave to Hero and MC?

Truly he is the deserving champion for both his skill and his kindness.

Imagine if you were Hero, a fellow protoss, and a team liquid member, and you had lost the tournment but got this shout out from the champion and none other than Huk himself?

And imagine how happy MC must have been, to be called the Protoss President by his friend and the person who just proved he is basically the best Protoss in the world?

Truly, we have the qualities of a Hero in Huk.

I hope others follow his lead in kindness and skill and dedication

Well TheSTC resembles MVP in that he does many varied amount of builds(many cheesy ones). You never honestly can guess his playstyle because he tailors it to his opponent.

I'm happy for MC. Because he wasn't in Code S last season, I think that means that he won't be able to put himself into a group of death again.
This was an exciting MLG. Congrats to Huk!

He has great control, a wide variety of builds, has posted back to back top 4s in major tournaments, and has only recently returned to full time play as he was in the military.

When dropping ranks in the pool or losing upper bracket games it should be punishment enough to have to best strong opponents in two games before potentially catching up to the one that beat you previously. Extended series is generally not as entertaining and takes away a lot.
