to be fair Tester isn't particularly good even during the open season days...
it's amazing he is still in Code S after all, similar to FruitDealer still being in GSL.

Yeah that observer poping out was ridiculous. Should have cancelled Nexus and saved his units as much as he could, but the cancel was way too late.

Trickster should have more Zealots chasing those marines and preferably draw tank splashes as well instead of making too many Stalkers.

Except marines have little health and clump, so you have the following choices of counters:

as Z: banelings, infestors
as T: siege tanks
as P: high templar, colossus

If you just build stalkers or something, then yes you will lose.

Stalkers are you how you stop early marine allins.
Collo are how you stop late marine allins.
1-1-1 and all its variants are the timing in between where you can't stop it

you can't get any of those units early except banelings and siege tanks.
This is why I think for protoss, it is pretty tough for them, even through stalkers are pretty good against marine, they don't get pumped out as fast as marines.

Well he got knocked out in the qualifiers for GSL2 and 3 by marine/tank/banshee all-ins which people still haven't figured out.

sentry zealot is not even that bad against marine tank, with good forcefields the tanks destroy the marines, but you have to not cut the army in half but make a pocket to trap all the marines (or a big % of the marines)

Ive been reading defense guides that say to get charge but I wonder if its even necessary.

yeah i agree for the most part. i think i'd have to see it play out, and i'm not sure if it would have been possible without those tank snipes, but i think no expo, with colli, on top of the fact that he did snipe those tanks means he could have held it

The difficulty of marines isn't that they "can't be countered". It's that they're so cost efficient.

Actually, it was a hellion opening into a marine/tank push. Interesting play by ryung, but not the most entertaining game. It's pretty obvious Tester just wasn't prepared for the build at all. He saw it coming and even had an observer out, and he just didn't respond well at all.

Just ignore the whining. It seems that protoss is the new zerg.

Well I was talking about in the later game, since Yaotzin was talking about combat shields + medivacs which you don't get in this kind of all in. Artosis seemed to think you could get colossus fast enough to counter that marine/tank all-in, but I'm neither P nor T so I can't comment on that.

I dunno when Tester saw the 3 rax so I dunno if he could've in time. Just saying, the timing is horribly awkward for Protoss. If you rush collo and their allin hits early, then you don't have stalkers you needed. If you go stalkers and they push later...no collo, dead.

40 percent is being generous at the moment. Closer to say 28. Point still stands though.
