Alright, its truly time to stop whining. Stop caster bashing also. Be warned. |
it wasn't that cheesy, in fact it is a very smart build. sure a missle turret at the front stops DTs from entering the main but they have a lot of utility after the harassment phase. choya's expo would have been completely protected from any form of big rax play simply because jinro would have NEEDED that e-bay which would delay his tech, reduce his army size, reduce his rax count, etc.
choya followed up the expo with 2 (maybe even 3) gateways, meaning any counter aggression would have been easily fended off.
DT's are good. just cause people don't use them doesn't mean they are cheesy. in fact, DTs are soooo good that anybody who isn't readily able to defend against them straight up auto-loses

Calling it here first.
Incontrol loses and writes an essay as a gg statement for Boxer.

DT expand is something you see whenever you watch the Korean streamers play on the Korean ladder. It transitions into zealot/archon.
No man.
Expanding.

It would have been cheese if Choya somehow pulled his probes with the attack or something. If the DTs failed utterly, he could have tried to get a wall or at least a few cannons at his natural and build up more zealots/stalkers before transitioning into whatever. Going fast DTs and attacking with them is not cheese - it's just a form of pressure. If DTs failed choya would be dead with zero chance of recovery. Going fast 3 DTs is absolutely cheese. There is a DT expand build that's somewhat stable - but this isn't anywhere close to that.
Yes it is. He was expanding behind it and can easily get cannons or units to defend a counter-attack. The build is meant to punish a fast CC from a terran like what Jinro tried. Watch more games of Koreans transitioning out of early DTs and stabilizing.

People shouldn't go all "pfff stupid cheese". Fyi, a prestigious player like Bisu uses DT/corsair just to deny opponent expansions/get his own expos up, not to end the game (I know it's a different game and blablabla but the cheese concepts kind of carry over).
He had 2 stalkers at his front that was his entire army. He would've died to any kind of pressure but he scouted the no gas so gambled on Jinro sitting in his base and macro-ing for a while. This was definitely not a safe DT expand.

yeah as a zerg I hate cloaked banshee's more then DT's . (still hate dt's a lot though!)

No, you would see only 1 rax, double gas, where double gas could mean anything really for protoss.

I'm a terran, so I'd love to say that was cheese or allin to devalue it(since i hate dts so much -.-), but if jinro had had a turret up, aslong as he wasn't going banshee or raven play, choy was completely safe. DTs are disgusting when it comes to mapcontrol. If he had a turret, obviously jinro would be at an advantage though, but that's because of the faster expo, not dts.

I've noticed that Jinro has been quite susceptible to unorthodox strategies in the past few months. Seems like he just hasn't found the time to sit down and figure these timings and strategies out. Let's hope he can regroup in the lower bracket.

I like Day9 but its dumb to call choya's play filmsy, he had a great read on what Jinro was going to do and you can still come back even if there is a turret there anyway. You can also forcefield the ramp on shakuras very easily if it fails. The void ray build on game 2 is standard on KR server for that position and very powerful.

DT's and Voidrays so dirty imo xd > If it doesn't come from a Gateway or Robo it's cheese, duh.

Who the f*ck care if its cheese or not. As long as you can win Why do people don't understand this? If someone cheeses and win the whole MLG, then so be it. They are Pros for a reason. They should know how to stop it.

By that definition, nothing is allin. A 4rax after 2 rax is obviously just punishing a greedy zerg that doesn't get blind 3 spines or a baneling nest.
