- You can immensely decrease the time between matches by playing the replay, instead live. From my noob spectator point of view, there is no different what so ever. - Thinking better now, you should never invite people from past SCI (or at least not the winner), it will be more exciting to have always fresh people, also cleaning the path (no one should win twice) for the SCI9 - Winners from the past.

There's always another side to the coin though. A lot of people still want that "live" feeling they get from knowing that the games are played right there and then. While replays eliminate a lot of technical difficulties and speeds up the process, you miss out on epic moments such as "CHILL GET OUT". And personally, I kind of like seeing the former champions defend their titles. Also you can see how a player has developed since last time and, of course, should the previous finalists end up facing each other again I feel it automatically adds some extra tension. Not to mention it adds a little extra to the prize knowing you're ensured a spot in the next invitational.

People can make player suggestions all they like but will viewer numbers or their enjoyment significantly change much because several hundred people vote for their favourite players to be included? (considering viewer numbers are already around 20k)

This, keep it like this and MAYBE do a 8 man qualifier for up and coming players (who will be brought to your attention by the audience, but you make the choices to evade popularism)

Invite 4 teams from a list like this: Liquid, Dignitas, Mouz, Empire, Millenium, Team Acer, Fanatic, FXO, EG, Reign, Complexity, Sixjax, etc. Have 2 bo7's on day 1. Losers play losers in bo7's for 3rd and 4th place at the start of day 2. Winners player winners in a bo7 afterwards for 1st and 2nd place. No 2v2's. No ace matchs. Just straight up winner stays on, loser picks map format.

Yes, definently do that, you should invite 2 Euro teams and 2 NA teams, like Fnatic, EG, Empire, and dignitas (well maybe Liquid as it would be on the EU Server where Ret, HayprO, and TLO live).

I also liked how you went for the final match even though it was getting towards midnight and still a Bo7 to do... I've suggested it earlier in the thread... 4 NA and 4 EU players, separate brackets until the final/bronze match. That way you can start off with two EU Ro8 matches, and then two NA Ro8 matches. This solves two problems: No realm switching in the Ro8 and Ro4, and no "too late, can't play today" problems on day 1, since it would still be quite early in NA even if the Ro8 goes long. There's still the problem of day 2 going long. Admittedly a lot of it was because of technical problems, but the games still went long. I think it would be nice if you started earlier and took into account the fact that every game may last for 30 minutes. A lot of people went to bed before the final match because they thought it would be rescheduled (i stuck it out, but i wasn't really awake at work on monday). It's better to finish too early than too late. There's also the risk that the players will do like morrow in the final of SCI #1 and essentially throw the game because it's really getting late. Whether he threw it or not, he was definately not playing his best there.

Kind of like the NBA playoffs eastern conference vs western conference. East and west don't meet until the finals. Some even say the semis are the "real" finals. ![]()

MorroW vs dde and of course the grand final Socke vs. dde) A view points regarding future SCIs and the 5000$ prize pool cap (aka what to do with all the cash): - It seems to me like a lot of fans/viewers/contributers/donators (including myself) really would like to see future invitationals with prize pools exceeding the 5000$ limit. - This is because it seems that the majority of the donators weren't even aware of this limitation and provided money (in some cases ridiculous amounts) in order to create the biggest and best tournament there ever was. - The reason behind this would be that the SCIs are entirely funded by the community and therefore they are our tournaments (I know of course that they are primarily TBs tournaments but to some extent they belong to us ![]() - This brings us to the 5000$ limit... In the case of the SCIs I really believe Blizzard should make an exception to their policy because honestly I don't really know if they considered something like community sponsored events (as far as I know it's pretty much unheard of) - Anyway whatever happens with the available money, I'm sure it's gonna be awesome (I'm absolutely confident that TB will organize some great events in the future)

Like Dignitas, Liquid`, fnaticMSI, coL, FXO, Reign, sixjax, millenium, empire, mouz and maybe EG depends on if TB. Maybe throw in some Korean Teams as well? It'd make things just a little more exciting and it'd be something like a one month tournament, that would be pretty tense ^^;;
