GSL has years of experience in doing live events MLG has experience now cause the have learned on their mistakes Dreamhack has experience because they have been doing this for quite some time NASL has experience because... of wait they don't because this is their first major live event Just give them some slack - they will improve and stop hating without considering the whole picture. The thing is you get really irritated at these fuckers just throwing up a bunch of money and hyping a big event WHEN THEY DONT HAVE THE EXPERIENCE. Start small ffs, For example the recent HSC was the 3rd HSC, they tried it out first. Dreamhack has been organizign LAN events since the 90. They know they can deliver the tournament they announce. But thats a bit to hard for american ppl. Just like the CGS all again

We didn't see any of the intros at the convention center. It seemed like the casters were just stalling for time as the players got situated and set up. I assume there was some sort of video package that the stream got to watch during this time. I never got the feeling we were waiting on a video to finish before the match starting. I think the main reason everything took so long was because the players needed to set up their mouse/keyboard, install drivers, etc... It was amazing how long it took the players to get set up before each match! I guess the computers just kept crashing or having difficulties every time someone tried a new keyboard or something. I think the long delay between matches had more to do with technical difficulties while players were setting up than purposeful video intros and caster small talk. They tried to play the first one (Ret vs. Puma), but only the audio worked. After that, they just gave up and didn't even mention them again. I just assumed they sacked the whole thing until I read on TL that the stream was getting to watch the videos.

You wish the viewer base would leave if they don't improve, because then you and the rest of teh whiners could point to it and say "I was right." In reality, though, your prediction and most of your complaints are exagerrations. Behind the veil of anonymity that the internet provides, you vented your negativity with no filter. Unfortunately this is something that Esports and TL.net will never be able to escape.

Especially when there has been harsh critiques for your own casters. The questions for the interviews should pertain to the games that have just been played (IE: Why'd you choose to do x against player y?). Instead, the questions were the same ones for pretty much every player, and it was clear the interviewers didn't really know that much about SC2. I'd love to have seen a SC2 player/caster do the interviews (I wouldn't care if inControl or Gretorp would have done that, they'd at least know what to ask). I actually think that this set up is much better for the casters. Today's action went on for pretty long, and when you've just flown over from Korea a couple of days ago, you're just not going to have the energy. I'm pretty sure they talked to Tastosis about their comfort level, how many games they wanted to cast each day, and other things like that. I think this schedule works a lot better for the casters than the 3 straight days that was MLG.

GSL WC was not only 0 investment before the actual tournament, but it was literally 0 investment because GSL payed for everything as well as housing, etc. These two are completely different. And they get to go to korea to train, that in itself is a huge benefit.

Unfortunately this is something that Esports and TL.net will never be able to escape. The negatives were not exaggeration, it was terrible for what I could watch. I stayed up till about 1 am before I got tired. They even invented new problems I've never seen before, I literally couldn't watch the first 2 BO3 because I got motion sickness because there was no cursor.... How can they be so ignorant of the qualities needed to make a successful event.

Just like the CGS all again They started small, it was called the Gosu Coaching Premier League, you might have watched it at some point, it was cast by inControl and Gretorp, It was run by Xeris, the prize pool was paid for in part by revenue gathered from Gosu-coaching that is reinvested in order to ensure a healthy tournament scene because that's a healthy tournament scene is a useful thing toi have when you run a coaching business. Maybe you see where I'm going with this...

However, on a positive note, the games (especially darkforce vs alive) were good. Of course you should expect that from the player list you have brought in, but still, NASL needs some encouragement ![]() I think the delay in games was for the players. plenty of breaks lead to better games, letting players get ready and all that. I cannot fathom why any non-korean would wish to participate in this event, waste their time battling in groups for months, fly to another country only to be owned in several minutes.
