Sadly after all this time with so many tournament threads it still is not clear to many users on this site. There are several types of posts that are not acceptable in tournament threads. Any form of:
Imbalance whine/Player bashing/Caster bashing/Stream complaining
Will result in two day to a week long bans even for first offenses. Please stick to the games at hand and enjoy yourselves with a beautiful event such as this and the free service that comes with it. |

Hasu and Thorzain are fighting for the #2

Thorzain can at best get up to 8 wins at which point it would depend on their head-to-head match, but hasu won that. If they follow their own rules thorzain is out now. It depends on win-loss ratio, not just number of wins, no?
Not according to the the Dreamhack official rules. Only wins.

Last Code S : HuK knocked into Up and Down by InCa (no.2 PvP in the world after MC, and eventual finalist) and July (close game with a legend).
Up and Down he has 1 chance vs either MMA or MKP, and beats MMA (one of the few people that has beaten MMA in a Bo1/Bo3 in the last 2 months...).
Then he gets Polt (eventual finalist) in the R32 of Super Tournament who has the best vP in the world.
So many haters don't realise how unlucky HuK is. He could easily advance in any of those scenarios if he wasn't matched with the eventual finalists or gosus, and even then he had a good chance to beat Polt and July in those 2 matches.
Gogogo HuK fighting. My tip for Dreamhack :D A nice post but still somewhat inaccurate. Sure he had InCa and July in his groups, but that's based on the GSL Code S selection process, not random draw. HuK had very little say in how his group would shape up, and obviously would shape up in a way that didn't benefit him (if it benefitted him, the previous players would not have selected that way) Sure he lost to Polt in ST, but most players in RO32 are pretty good. You could also argue that he was lucky in getting the worst PvP player (San) in R1 and avoiding PvP (his worst matchup) in R2. Or that he didn't run into Nestea/MC/etc. etc. HuK is good, but he's where he belongs, low Code S material.
Huk also had an extremely easy draw to get into Code S in the first place. Not saying Huk doesn't deserve Code S or commenting either way but he's had plenty of favourable luck too.
Also in Code S you will always play very good players, because it's full of very good players.

Naniwa, MC, HuK, SaSe, Socke, White-Ra, Mana and assuming HasuObs makes it, all in the Ro16 playoffs, one protoss from each group. Really amazing showing by the world's top protoss players :D

If they follow their own rules thorzain is out now. You're doing it wrong. If Hasu loses 1-2 he's at +3. If Thorzain wins 2-0 he's at +4. Matches won > Score > Head-to-head. # of games won doesn't matter.

It's not wins, it's wins - losses Why do so many people believe this? I have not seen any official source state this. Apollo and day9 are confused as hell about scoring so wouldn't trust their word as necessarily correct when it comes to technical details.
EDIT: Not saying it isn't the most sensible, just don't think that is how DH does it.

Yep. The playoffs will be chosen randomly. Anything can happen =).

And clearly with Moon making 2nd in group it turned out to be a good invite no?
The better question is someone like Grubby who is sponsored by steelseries as well, would he have gotten an invite otherwise? My guess is yes, Grubby is just too popular in Europe to not get one. And he finished 3rd in group so didn't turn out poorly either.

its BRATOK takin the playoff round 8 spot er bust

I thought Thorzain was a foreign favorite?.. And Idra too..

Acorrding to DH rules its win/loss ratio, then number of wins, then head to head.

ST Curious and TSL Revival aren't easy. I'm not sure if you've followed the Korean scene recently but both of those players have done quite well in the last few weeks (Revival in Super Tournament, Curious in the ICCUP weekly)
