Also, just to clarify...I'm confused about the Code A schedule on the calender. Does this mean that Code A happens two times in a day (meaning that Round of 32 and Round of 16 are all in the same day)?

Not sure if that's the best idea, I think to qualify for Code S it's proper to beat a Code S player to get there.

At least 2 Code S players get filtered out of Code S minimum every GSL, regardless if the top 32 are actually the top 32 best in the world due to automatic Code S seeding. If they are that good they will win code A and get back in there are some great players in code A and i like the change.

Only problems I see with this is the seedings for the Up/Down groups and how they're going to conduct the groups... I imagine it will be Bo1s where every player plays every other player... (total of 11 matches). There'll then be issues with tiebreakers also I'd imagine... and people whining about it being Bo1.

Still a long way off to the finals... the location for the finals of the upcoming Super Tournament hasn't been announced yet either so it's best to wait. Should note that the Finals is scheduled for a Friday, where else all the individual GSL Finals have been on a Saturday. But then again like I mentioned it's still a long way off. It's likely going to be subject to change as the time gets nearer.

Seems to me that Week One schedule will be something like this (remember, Code A is also played in the afternoon for the first week), if we go by the standard assumption of 4 matches a session: Monday Afternoon - Ro32 Monday Evening - Ro32 Tuesday Afternoon - Ro32 Wednesday Afternoon - Ro32 Thursday Afternoon - Ro16 Friday Afternoon - Ro16 Then the Ro8 onwards will only take place on Mondays.

What i'd really love to see is GSL combining it's tourney prizes for two months and having the season be two months long. As much as I'd love to see a gsl champion every month, producing so many kind of cheapens the tittle. Perhaps a longer format, where it is tougher to be eliminated ( losers bracket perhaps ) This way there would be plenty of games to cover, truly good players wouldn't be eliminated because the dropped a day, and the prestige of winning the entire thing would greatly increase. Just some ideas GSL! Either way, keep bringing me great starcraft.

Code A as it is now is a nice idea but theleague needs to be centered around code S and that should be where the majority of time is spent imo. Also I'm pretty sure any player would rather play intensively during a few days than spread their matches out over a full month. It's like the longest qualifier in history. It's a money issue. More TV air time = happier sponsors = more money.

Go look at the schedule in the OP. It's almost exactly the same, just that the individual GSL gets extended 1 more week. And Code A's Ro32-16 is played all within 1 week, so it's in a way good for foreigners if they think they might get knocked out early (but then bad as the Ro8-Finals for Code A is played over 3 weeks). The GSTL runs concurrently to all GSLs, so it won't add an additional break between GSLs.
