I never played it but will be tuning into the proleague brodcast. Maps are bigger, bases take far less workers to saturate, and matches are rarely decided by single fights. ZvZ - Ling v Ling into Ling/muta/scourge v Ling/muta/scourge. Fast, micro intensive, and extremely low econ (<10 drones per player is typical) TvT - Mech, very positional, takes forever. A very interesting matchup with many of permutations, but you have to be in the mood for it. You probably won't see one. PvP - Ball v Ball, with both sides being very mobile. Tech path is very important, whether a player goes shuttle reaver or rushes to templar tech can change the game wildly. Generally considered the best mirror. TvZ - Lots of options, Terran can go bio or mech, Zerg can do almost anything. Tech is important, and the games are often dominated by short term advantages gained by being more advanced. Early to mid game revolves on terran trying to delay and mitigate the inevitable muta harass. Late game generally favors Zerg because Defilers are silly, but overall the match slightly favors terran. ZvP - Protoss will forge fast expand into corsairs 95% of the time, but from there options branch out. Zerg will either go for early pressure with mass hydra's or play defensive, take 4 gas, and tech. Favors zerg. PvT - Ball v mech, with lots of attack timings for both races. Mid to late game is all about maneuver, with the P trying to get a favorable angle on the T army. Late game, P can get either arbiters or carriers, though the latter are very map sensitive. Favors P. If you have any questions, ask the chat. You should get an answer. Have Fun.

I just hope MLG 2012 lives up to it's hype and gives us huge prize pools next year and the other event originizers will just feel dumb for having such low prize pools

Oh, overlords detect too and unit pathing is decidedly different.

All this is true, but i was trying to provide a brief high level summary of each matchup, rather than diving into the details of each unit.
