The finals were played at the teamliquid headquarters in New York. All the other games were cast from replays, possibly days after the games were played.
Hot_Bid specifically told us to close anything that could lag.I had IRC open because I liked to see the feedback.
A) was told to close anything that can cause lag. B) Chill admits he did not follow instructions because he liked to see feedback.
I'd be very mad if I was the loser of this event, no matter who it happened to be. A force outside your control made artificial game conditions out of the blue. Imagine in a chess game if someone started talking in the middle of it and told you to wait to make moves. That is what happened.
It could of even been done intentionally (not saying it was just it could of been) to create issue.
Granted I think TL should of had the casters live at the event as well all in the same place. Casters on machines controlled by TL. So overall it's Chill fault and TL staff fault for allowing the setup to happen how it did. It has now been shown that you cannot trust casters to understand the technology they must be hand-held and watched to ensure they follow the rules. This is how it is done for other casters in other sports and for a reason the caster is there to cast not to deal with complicated internet technology and rule comprehension.

It did NOT impact the game in any possible way what so ever. As stated 100 times in this thread, but I'll point it out the 101th time for you.
1. It was not at a time where they had to micro a battle. 2. Naniwa took the lead after chill had left the game. If he was tilted when chill was lagging, then you would think he was back to normal after getting a pretty big lead like he did. 3. There are things that happen in online tournaments that are 100 times worse then what happened here. If you get 100% thrown off your game by a small thing like this, you have a problem. 4. This happened to both players. If it did impact the game(im not saying it did), you could argue that the one who let this throw him off his game would be less deserving then the one who didnt.

GTFO Chill is great
I can't believe somebody on these forums can be so stupid. It was early game when chill was having lag issues and they paused and later on when lag was becoming a problem, thorzain said chill t.t in chat when naniwa was camped below the cliffs of his natural expo sniping off like 8 scvs, making thorzain truly behind in the decider.
After chill left naniwa had the upper hand but thorzain played great.
the tournament was awesome....another idiot like the ones who said mc played bad vs white ra.
I just want to say thanks to the TL staff for running this event and of course the players for playing. The finals were quite simply one of the best series I've seen of Starcraft 2 and when Thorzain went down to 3-1 I thought it was all but over for our hero Terran and somehow he pulled it back and got the last game. Man that last game was so tense and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was cheering for Thorzain the whole way through and glad he won, Naniwa played well too but got to support my fellow Terrans! :p
Thanks to TL for putting on the tournament. I looked forward to the new set of matches every weekend... I'm glad the finals did not disappoint in the slightest.
I'm already looking forward to TSL4! :D Can't wait!
Seriously the narrative that forms from the style/format of tournament is un-matched so far in SC2. Well done to everyone involved, you guys know your shit and got it together.
