ah really nice series!!! enjoyed that very much, so action-laden and suspenseful. about the lag though i gotta say that it can be very off putting. at such a high level and with so much money at stake i can imagine that the stress can be quite a lot to handle. ive had it happen to me in clanwars and the likes. it can really throw you off, you forget things and get thrown out of your rythm. lots of things can contribute to that. naniwa raging: "get out chill" and aftrwards thinking "shit i shouldnt have said that, now ill look bm to 60000 viewers" and so on. in the end noone really knows except for naniwa. not to take anything from thorzain though. he played very well.

To think that people actually assume Chill had some latency issues due to IRC blows my mind.

He's said himself that's what it was...

i come from a competetive scene of a fps game, was pro player, now retired, enjoying spectating sc2 because its such an awesome game, in my past there was a lot of situations like this when someone lags needs to pause and i was in both positions when(like naniwa offensive and thorzain defensive) and all i can say such thing shouldnt affect the performance of a pro player, naniwa lost because of his nerves and thats it.. same things happened @ MLG... and what? he played normally..
So Chill just chill out dude i dont see why he has to apologize. shit happens.

This was a great event with great casting, big upsets, awesome games and an awesome final. Can't we just be happy with that? (yes yes kumbaya)
Quoting this guys post cause Im sick of peoples BS excuses and bitching after a tourny is over. GJ Thorzain.

Just thought I would repost this as it got unfortunately placed and buried quickly on the same page Chill apologized on. Every TSL has had an epic comeback finals. It's almost bad luck to take the commanding lead over your opponent:
Is there a worse curse in TSL history than being up big in the finals against your opponent?
TSL 1: IefNaij < Draco IefNaij < Draco IefNaij > Draco IefNaij > Draco IefNaij > Draco
TSL 2: NonY < Mondragon NonY < Mondragon NonY > Mondragon NonY > Mondragon NonY > Mondragon NonY > Mondragon
TSL 3: Dignitas.NaNiwa < mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa > mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa > mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa > mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa < mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa < mouz.ThorZaIN Dignitas.NaNiwa < mouz.ThorZaIN
TSL: WHERE COMEBACKS HAPPEN!
No idea how TL gets so lucky. Maybe it's just a testament to the way they organize their tournaments, the qualifiers, and so on. They just end up with the most amazing players playing the most amazing games.

Still, im buzzing over that series. Off the chain!
And I'm sure 'CHILL OUT' will become a new meme >_>
|
I can't believe so many douches around here are complaining about Chill not leaving the game 'fast enough'... the guy is a commentator ffs, he did not want to leave Day alone for the last minutes of the whole tournament.. trying if stabilized for a few secs did not like that affected the outcome in any way.

Erm... the invitees failed hard time, while TLOpen winners proved to be the best, so the pre-organization wasn't the best possible. I hope for TSL4 there will be much less invitees, if any. (except the three seeds from TSL3, ofc)

In order to eliminate invites, they have to expand their qualification system to Korea--which will be a huge pain. I'd love it if they did it, of course, but I don't think we can blame them for not doing it and just relying on GSL results.

well naniwa should won it with last series, he just couldn keep up his nerves, made tons of mistakes and lost
|
oh yeah lets not get this great series and the outcome hung up on some issue like the lag. seriously if anyone even had a remote idea of whether it affected him it would be naniwa.
|
Did anyone ever figure out the name of the song they used for the highlight reel intro??
|
I see what you did there : )
|
Erm...r u serious volband?
i think invites and winners did nearly equally good - its a knockout system from the start,so i dont see your point. mc lost to thorzain but did ok, boxer as well - I rlly enjoyed the TSL3.
|
I think this is how Nani felt when Chill was lagging... maybe he thought it was a set up.

Yeah, I think it's a testament to how a qualification system is superior to an invite system. It's better to have players get in by merit rather than reputation.
