Some dick-of-a-real-ID friend posted the spoilers of the tournament in his notification as soon as it was over, so when I came back from studying it completely killed my mood to watch this tournament. I was voting for Naniwa, but it was epic nonetheless (though it could have been more if I was not spoiled...)

Good job to TeamLiquid for hosting this, hope to see more great tournaments!

I think it's interesting to observe the differences between how Naniwa and Thorzain handled the lag episode.

Forget about how it happened, because it could have happened a thousand different ways.

Yes, Naniwa is under pressure and he just lost 2 in a row. However, given his reaction it's almost as if he thought this was some show match with 20 random spectators in it. Does he not realize that the reason he has a shot at 15k is because there's thousands of fans out there wanting to spectate, and that there needs to be commentators bringing the action to the fans? Does he not realize that it's not up to him on whether Chill should leave or not?

There wasn't actually anything wrong with what he said. I just find that it gives everyone an insight into his personality and makes him come off as a sort of cranky spoiled kid. It makes me dislike him as a player, and makes me like Thorzain more.

or maybe naniwa values being focused while being down 0-2? who cares if he told chill to get out.

there is so much fail in this post, i dont even know what to say. cranky spoiled kid because he told the lagger to leave with so much on the line and in a tense situation like this? youre dissing naniwa when at the same time, a 9year old like idra has so many fans for being an immature ahole? saying ''chill get out'' does not, in any way conceivable, show disrespect to the fans and the spectators. think before posting and this site may become a better place.

Yes a lot was on the line, but the same can be said for Thorzain, and it's not just some random "lagger", this is one of two important commentators who are bringing the action to the fans, without which there would be no TSL to begin with.

Also, where did I say he disrespected the fans? What does Idra have to do with this? If you want to argue against my opinion at least try and actually address the point.

there isnt any point to address, thats the problem. i do not understand why youre trying to create an issue where there isnt any.

''but the same can be said for Thorzain'' so what? all people are the same? they have the same characters, personalities and reactions? thorzain is the noble one for not tolding him to get out?

and wow, how dare he told CHILL to get out, i think he should be banned for life from all sc2 tournaments and get hung in the village's oldest and tallest tree. i got nothing with chill, but your post still does not make any sense. random or not, the lagger must leave when 15,000k are on the line. that does not show in any way disrespect to chill.

My only point is that it's interesting to see the differences between the two players responses to the incident (you seem to say the same thing - two players, two personalities, etc..) and as a result of their responses my opinion of one is higher than the other. I'm sorry if you're having trouble understanding this simple point. Everything else you're ranting about I never said. If you'd like to respond to what I actually did say, by all means go ahead.

Nothing could be more relevant than commenting in the TSL3 Finals thread, on an event that happened during the TSL3 Finals.

The "and" is what's discussed in that last pages.

Finally got to watch these games and they were really really worth the Hype. It seemed that TSL had a blessing with such high quality games and everything in the whole tournament went so smoothly and perfect. Big thanks to the whole team producing the tournament, congrats to the player. Day9 just finished casteing +3 upgrade in the last game. So unbelievable casting to hype up the game to levels it deserved !

Naniwa confuses me... If I was him I'd be waaaay more pissed over losing to Sase than to ThorZain, regardless of the money involved. We must be very different people O.o

Regardless, ThorZain deserved this and needed this!! I really hope he goes SC2 full time and we get to see more of him, he's so likable and soooo good!

Sase is a great upcoming player though, highly similar to thorzain. Sase was awesome in WC3 also

Just thought I'd chime in to say it was an epic end to a really well produced and well run tourney. I can totally understand Naniwa being tilted more than Thorzain having just lost the last 3 games but I think it in no way makes Thorzains win any less legitimate.

Thorzain really played well in the last game. Being down 118 to 152 supply and managing to come back with PERFECT emps is really really really impressive.

Sase is getting quite good, has been doing well lately, it was a PvP right after the new patch and not long after Naniwa flew over to NY. He had valid reasons why he didn't perform his best against Sase so why would that loss be so much worse?

That said, judging by what has come forth about "the road to Korea" tournaments, it's safe to say Naniwa wasn't too happy about that as well so unless you know him personally I don't think you can say which loss he took the worst. Not that I see how it matters anyway.

From the FAQ
On January 01 2011 13:39 TL.net Bot wrote:
So can we download the replays?

No, for a variety of reasons replays of official TSL3 games will not be available for download. Maintaining the name of the PokerStrategy.com TSL3 is not possible if we allow downloading of replays from the tournament, thus replays are not released. We cannot release the replays without relinquishing creative control of the tournament to third party casters who may or may not chose to properly credit sponsorship and tournament organizers. Keeping replays internal also keeps some level of privacy for the players who come up with new builds specifically for the tournament.

And since the tournament is over, some of these reasons lose strength, but the sponsorship is a big deal. (Not talking in the name of TSL staff here, my own perspective which I think they share)
