don't we all love thorzain? ♥

he just played better in the last game.
Very nice EMPs, while nani was too greedy to split his sentrys, or to get blink/charge, weapon/armor upgrades or even a 4. base while he contained Thorzain...
You: Quick idra, answer this: 3 men walk into a bar. is one of them gay? EGIdrA: depends on whether or not anyone of them plays protoss

I just wish the last game would had looked different. Would had been better if Thorzain would had dominate the last game instead of pretty much be given the win from Naniwa. A bit of an anticlimactic ending to a great series.

But I don't really mind since Day9 made an incredible job casting the end of the game and I don't believe this had any significant impact in the player's performance.

Hot_Bid specifically told us to close anything that could lag. I rebooted my computer and shutdown my laptop to make sure I didn't lag. I had IRC open because I liked to see the feedback. I honestly never thought it could be a potential lag source which was simply an oversight.

You shouldn't get shit for having IRC open because there's no way that was causing the lag unless a dedicated attack is going on by a person with a botnet in a channel you are in. I find it amazing people still don't understand that the Internet is just very fragile if you need an uninterrupted connection. ISPs are rebooting routers for update and changing routes all the time so random lagging while routes re-establish is a given and there's nothing you can do about it. The way people assumes all lag is client-end pisses me off.

Yeah, seriously, people talking a lot on IRC in no way should lag your internet so hard that you need to leave the game. IRC by itself runs on such a low requirement of bandwidth anyway.

This man speaks sense.

We must immediately burn him at the stake, lest this spreads.

Tbh i respect his honesty. He could have bullshitted us all and just said his computer froze or played dumb. A recent major tournament did do this and got caught out. He admitted it was his fault and apologised. Let's move on and not let it take away from one of the best series in SCII to date.

Well... as a naniwa fan I primarily don't wanna bash naniwa for possible mistakes but rather external factors

That is true but Chill had the opportunity to leave at the beginning of the lag problems but he choose not to leave.

Stop blowing everything out of proportion. Chill's minor lag problem did not have as much effect as people here are arguing.

Maybe someone got his IP off IRC and then ran some DoS script or something.

Day9 also got 900+

Congrats, long overdue! I showed about 20 people that Halloween post and all of them laughed outrageously, I still laugh every time I go back and read it

btw is there a way to open these links in the pony tales in new tabs so it doesn't have to load the pdf every time I click a link?

because the lag was fixed, then they played for a minute or w/e without lag and it started up again so he left.

That is 100x more likely than IRC causing lag.

Lots of people in IRC don't cause lag. That's an absolutely miniscule amount of bandwidth.

The lag happened at really two slow parts in the game. It didn't happen in the middle of a giant micro filled fight. It happened in the beginning when spamming workers, and later when nothing was really happening.

Lag did not cause nani to lose game 7, nani losing game 5,6 caused him to lose game 7.

all in all though, absolutely amazing series, both players lived up to the hype, and even better, I predicted 4-3 T-Zain.

GREAT TOURNY TSL!!!!!

Listen guy, you keep harping on this and its apparent you're upset that the player you were supporting lost. YOU cannot know if it affected Naniwa more or less, you have no idea unless you were there and in Naniwa's head at the time. The facts are both players experienced the same thing, and it's up to them to deal with it. Besides that fact, chill's lag was completely irrelevant, neither player lost a unit or extremely important positioning due to it.

Get over the fact that the player you were rooting for threw the game away after having a ~30 food lead. Stop making excuses and blaming external factors, Naniwa had 3 chances to close out the finals anyway if anything it's his fault for losing 3 in a row...

I really dislike Terrans mass repair, just me but it feels kind of BM when you bring a ton of SCV's to repair/ attack... = ( unless its TvT because both plays can do that lol

Aww c'mon guys, let's not end a great event on notes like this. I (stubbornly) believe the community is better then that. This was a great event with great casting, big upsets, awesome games and an awesome final. Can't we just be happy with that? (yes yes kumbaya)
I'm a man of my word, and that word is "unreliable".
