Seriously, just CHILL.
10-15 seconds is HUGE for thorizan to be able to address the situation and clearly make the correct decisions without any pressure on him. Anyone who's played on the ladder should know how easy it is to make the wrong choice when they're harassing you like that.

The assumption could go either way. I can say that thorzain had already decided his plan of action and just wanted the game to continue ASAP. You guys are making something out of nothing really. It's unfortunate.

Thorzain has played the situation before, he knows what he has to do... do not act like he needed 10-15 seconds to know that he needs to pull his scvs so he doesn't lose them while getting vikings to take out the collosus that's just standard.

This sucks, poor guy he played great the series must have been so draining I hope it doesn't effect his play too much as I love watching his strong standard play.

thanks to naniwa and thorzain for putting up the greatest Bo7 SC2 has seen yet!

I can imagine his feelings. He was amazing regardless of loosing. Its good to keep the motivation to keep pushing your self, but i hope he remembers to enjoy sometimes, not just when he wins. Hajime no ippo style.

Even though Nani's reputation as a BM player has lowered drastically recently, this mornings final did nothing to help this. I can understand he's devastated but his reaction to the pause and not going to the after party were both pretty childish. Oh well at least he's passionate.

So glad that Thorzain won. He's such a baller and a credit to the Terran race. =]

I honestly am so miserable to see how shortsighted people are. Let me explain the situation Naniwa is in: -He has being riding a huge wave of victories, losing almost no BoX sets over the last few months -You're flown into a country he said he wasn't really into -You are 3-1, you only need ONE more game to seal the deal but the TSL curse/destiny (as Kennigit coined it a few pages earlier) and you lose it barely in 3 games running straight -After all of this, after losing $8000 (15k-7k from what i recall) you are asked to go out to a bar with the victor (even though they are somewhat friends) and talk to people who will only want to talk about that night and not let you forget it for a moment that you may have fucked up.
Now think about what you and other said.

Man, I feel like shit if I lose the soccer finals of a small regional unimportant tournament. I THINK it sucks to lose the biggest North American tournament to date especially when you were ahead 3-1. Childish? Give him a break ffs.

Actually the lag created by Chill seemed to positively effect Naniwa's play. ThorZaiN was unable to properly respond during the attack. Just my perspective of the incident. He really should of left the game immediately after lag started, but Chill took it professionally and apologized properly and we had an excellent game anyway. Both players played very well and thanks to all the staff at TL + PokerStrategy.
Don't hate on Chill. Though I'd say everyone thinks he should of left right away, he still handled things well and thanks for your great casting.

Obviously you never met Naniwa. He tells fans to fuck off while facing him and asking him for pics. Yes that really happened. He is a very weird and awkward dude and cant handle himself very well in public situations.

wow! Congrats ThorZaiN! What a refreshing match after the GSL finals.

I said it earlier in the thread, but Naniwa seems like he's somewhere on the autistic spectrum. Watch him give an interview: he never looks at the camera, he appears uncomfortable in social situations, and he's a pro gamer.
I mean, just to compare another player who is reportedly "BM", there's a world difference between Idra, who is outspoken and brash in his interactions with other players but is reportedly very nice in person and participates in a lot of the big SC2 related media, and Naniwa, who is just so socially awkward that he doesn't treat fans well. I wouldn't even say Naniwa's a jerk or anything, he just doesn't look like he has any ability to have a positive social interaction.
All that said, he's a fantastically entertaining gamer and I wish him the best in the future. His micro and decisionmaking can be so good sometimes, and he used some great builds.

@Jnai, others have made that observation as well. While I personally don't think you're inaccurate, I just feel uncomfortable with backseat diagnoses. :-) It's also been mentioned (even by himself) that he's had a hard life, and who truly knows what that entails without getting intrusive, so it may not have anything to do with autism or anything like that.

I don't think he has full blown autism (which is way more severe than even Naniwa!), he just seems more than simply socially awkward.
But, if he's had a rough life or whatever that I don't really know anything about, I wont speculate further. Certainly not my place. I just enjoy watching him play SC2. =)
