I don't exactly see why it takes a tech guy to fix the sound, it is a pretty easy thing to fix. You simply turn down the music you run overtop, lol. Silly or not, good thing they are fixing it. the music didnt get really loud until the end. the audio was much better throughout the cast. the things they need to fix now is incontrols mic and the game sounds seemed muffled today. Yeah, I'm not sure what the issue with the game sounds would be from, but inc's mic has a compressor that sounds like it's set way too aggressively. Basically, when he yells the compressor is making him extremely quiet, so we're actually hearing his voice mostly through gretorp's, which is why it has that huge echo. You're hearing the room. But they have a pro coming in, I'm sure he'll work his magic and all will be right with the world. Lets just hope hes better than the editor.

Either that, or he's been completely figured out and hasn't adopted a new style yet. Either way, Ret played well and took his openings. He's not slumping all that hard, even the best player loses games now and then. Compared to the other games of his from today(he was broadcast in 2 other series of high high level play) it felt like he just didn't take this one seriously at all... NOBODY has stopped his aggressive gateway play in PvZ yet, I figure if he really cared about the games he would just do it. Saying 'not to take anything away from Ret' in my post would be like saying 'no offense' before a racist remark, I guess I am discrediting Ret's win in a sense... but from Rets perspective who gives a shit he has been needing a win since Assembly so he probably doesn't care how it came, win = confidence and he needed some. Saying that Ret won because MC didn't care isn't much better than saying he won because MC is slumping tbh.. First, I did address that in my post. Second, even if he isn't deploying his tried and true unstoppable 4/6gates in this PvZ, beating MC's anything is an accomplishment(people bitch about his cannon rushing all the time), so it's not like I'm saying he threw the match and gave Ret free wins; Ret still 2-0'd a fantastic player who may or may not have been taking it as seriously as he .. should have?(that's a lot of money at the end of the rainbow to be digging an early hole in group play). I still stick to my post though, I just don't see how against a zerg that time and time again has shown EXTREME weakness to early game pressure, if he really felt the need to win he doesn't just 3 gate expand->6 gate, or 4gate. Zerg in general is pretty weak to toss earlygame aggression right now tbh, so I agree it probably would have been a good idea to throw that in in game 2. Anyhow, he doesn't even really need to be aggro at all, his lategame isn't that bad and he lost for the most part because he used bad builds and Ret knew how to capitalize on them.

I don't know if I'm missing something, but I have to say that the Ret vs Mc match 2 in my opinion+ Show Spoiler + had less to do with MC playing badly than RET doing an Epic move. Sending two queens into that nydus was incredibly smart and the timing was... yeah my brain still hurts.

MC's variety of builds is pretty ridiculous. He plays very unpredictably, although almost always risky.

What exactly do you mean mainstream? Are you implying that Joe Sixpack and Corporate guy (the main NFL, MLB, NHL audience) will be watching SC2 matches in 10 years? I dare say you are delusional. There will be no one watching this except gamers (which believe it or not is a HUGE audience) that don`t really care about professional. The general public will never get into starcraft. It is just way to complex for a casual viewer.

Professional is just another word for bland, sanitized, corporate BS. I will take Gretorp and Incontrol over any existing pro sports caster any day. Hell, I do not even know the names of any sports caster, and I am a hardcore MLB fan. They are just sooooo bland.
I do however know all the SC2 casters by name. Also, for an example, look at Destiny`s stream. The only reason he gets so many viewers is because he is a potty mouthed brat.

I can't believe what I'm reading from so many people.+ Show Spoiler + So it wasn't a Macro win..and Ret didn't have to fight a 4 Gate timing push. The decision making was top notch, and against a top level Protoss. I think any Zerg can learn a thing or two from watching that.

They can learn... nothing
MCs game 1 build is just not viable at that level of play, ret punished MC and ended the game with the first push essentially (killed a lot of probes)
Game 2, Mc was way ahead and let himself be nydused. This is essentially what happened to oGsTOP in GSL1 against fruit dealer, it cost him the game that he should NOT have lost, because he let nydus pop right in his own vision.

I just think it's that MC is actually somewhat weak to early pressure. You saw against Polt and now against Ret that he doesn't do that well against early pressure builds.

So Ret has nothing to do with MC losing the game. It was MC vs MC and MC lost cuz he played poorly.

Ya regardless if the builds used were MC's bread and butter, they're still things you may encounter playing the game. I mean, Mondragon should check out game 2 and see the proper response to a cannon rush, information he could've used a week ago but better late than never =p.

Ret won the game, but any zerg at his level would have after scouting that opening. The nydus was a last ditch effort from being behind that MC should have easily accounted for, but did not for some reason.

MC has done expo block into quick expand into Stargate play many times. It was not 'trying something new'. The response from Ret was definitely something rarely seen.
